Arcia for Robinson while Sano is on the mend, please.

I do look forward to a smart lineup of

1. Hicks, CF

2. Mauer, 1B

3. Dozier, 2B

4. Sano, DH

5. Arcia/Rosario, LF

6. Plouffe, 3B

7. Hunter/Rosario, RF

8. Suzuki, C

9. Polanco, SS

With Rosario and Arcia being a super bench player combo, and Hunter/Hicks being the RH opposite. I am not against rolling with Polanco right now, even with the defense issues currently. Santana and Escobar are not real contenders here. It is time to go youth now.

I don't think so. Cespedes had a 116 wRC+ before the trade. In the month of August, Oakland LFers had a 77 wRC+, and then a 61 for September.

August/September 2014

Moss 25 starts in LF, 76 wRC+

Fuld 14 starts in LF, 68 wRC+

Gomes 14 starts in LF, 62 wRC+

Guess I remembered that wrong.....

No doubt that losing Plouffe would hurt this year.  But fortunately, offering him would be unlikely to address our weaknesses in trade this month anyway, so I doubt our front office would be tempted.  The few teams actually looking to deal a MLB ready catcher (or shortstop) are not looking for a veteran 3B in return.

I guess Plouffe could bring relief help, but trading a starting position player for a reliever is almost always a bad trade.  Maybe if you could get an AJ style return for him, where you get a good controlled reliever plus prospects?  Don't know if anyone would be looking to do that kind of trade midseason though.

Plouffe is headed home pretty soon to be with his wife and the coming bundle of joy.

I finally found the due date, July 25.  If it goes according to schedule, he misses Sat and Sun home games vs. the Yankees, with a day off on Monday.

The rest of the story on Sano's ankle injury.  You're really gonna like this one....

From LEN III

"Young Twins slugger Miguel Sano is expected to miss a few games because of a sprained right ankle suffered when he stepped on a ball going through fielding drills Saturday."

“I was out there when it happened,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said. “He had been taking balls behind the bag, and he had moved in to take one coming off the bag. There was one [ball] between first and second that had rolled in from the outfield. He had made the play and came down on the ball. I guess we should have cleared the area a little better."

Thanks, Molly :banghead:
