Now I'm in full-blown "Dozier got screwed" mode. They could have considered Holt an outfielder and gone with Dozier. Ticks me off.

While I wholeheartedly believe that Dozier should be in Cincinnati next week, I can sort of understand why Gardner was chosen over Dozier. By choosing Dozier, that would have virtually guaranteed Moustakas' win in the final vote and give the Royals 7 all stars. Perhaps the best way for Yost to avoid accusations of team favoritism.

Except that 4 of the 6 Royals currently on the team were voted in by fans, and had nothing to do with Yost.  Ditto Moustakas if he makes it.  The only two Royals going because of Yost are Davis and Herrera, who are very defensible selections, especially Davis.  I would have gone with Robertson or Miller over Herrera, but I totally get a manager wanting to both reward and roll with his own guys.

During the roster reveals on Monday, Yost discussed how he wanted to ensure the final vote would give him a useful backup no matter what, thus 3 infielders and 2 outfielders. So from what both he and Bochy said on air, made it seem that they chose the final vote players.

Has Moose played since he was nominated? I know he went on leave due to a family emergency and I wonder if he'll play if selected. I hope not because Dozier should then be the guy. I guess the vote is over. Let's hope Doze came from behind to claim his rightful spot.
