USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Hicks hasn't had great results yet this year, but to me he just looks like a much more confident, competent hitter.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 molitor seems to be managing a little better of late.

70charger Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Butera? List of things I can't do right now: even
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Santana gives up an 0-2 RBI single. To Drew Butera no less. He fits right in.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Drew Butera drives in Infante from second to make it 2-1, Twins. Another former Twin does well against us...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Not a bad catch by Gordon. Would have liked to see Plouffe on base again though...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 It was the same thing with his two spring training dingers. It doesn't look like he's swinging hard but the ball still goes far. It's actually a golf thing. Some players (golf, baseball, tennis, etc.) utilize the natural pendulum action of their stick to generate easy power. Miguel Sano is one of those guys.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Kind of a lazy Sunday, huh? People fighting the hangovers from 'Murica Day?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Gordon with the cheapest of cheap home runs. 2-2 thru 5, CBU.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Well... KC got themselves an outfielder home run to tie it. 2-2 starting the 6th. CBU.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 How does Santana look out there? I'm not near a television.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Gordon with the cheapest of cheap home runs. 2-2 thru 5, CBU. Alas, it scored the same number o' runs as ours (er, Hicks').
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 How does Santana look out there? I'm not near a television. To my eyes, throwing hard, but the breaking stuff doesn't seem very crisp. Which wouldn't be surprising, given the lack of actual game preperation, only 3 AAA starts.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 How does Santana look out there? I'm not near a television. Really not bad. He's controlled, he's not giving up hits, and one home run off of him was about as close as it could be to staying in the park. He looks like he's in pretty good form for not having played in quite a while. (Watch the wheels fall off now...)

spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 How does Santana look out there? I'm not near a television.54 pitches through 5 innings, so his control has been good.

So it woulda been an out. If only his glove were 3 feet long...
Jerr Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Santana sounding good on the radio and nice to see he has his velocity.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Yeah he sounds almost dominant (Watch the wheels fall off now...) And 7th inning already???
70charger Verified Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Yeah he sounds almost dominant(Watch the wheels fall off now...)And 7th inning already???I see you're also inoculating yourself from being called the jinx.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Sano already drawing late inning, leadoff walks...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I see you're also inoculating yourself from being called the jinx.If it happens, let's both walk into the boss's office together.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 No doubt. This one is kinda sorta justifiable but you sometimes wonder if they've ever seen the run expectancy matrix. EDIT: though perhaps the run scoring matrix is/was skewed by the higher offense in the steroid era. Still, having the out usually seems better than having the extra base.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Sano has huge power. Notice that his swing is very powerful, but completely under control. Cain didn't realize how hard Sano had hit that ball, and it surprised him by carrying over his head. Hasn't Sano factored in at least one run in every game so far? He really doesn't look like a rookie. He looks as professional as Rosario, with an even better bat. Should be interesting when he finally gets a chance at third base.I am disappointed that he hasn't gotten to play in the field. Come on. Don't make a young strong man suffer through a day of about 10 minutes of action and all the rest waiting around.
