Diamond didn't do anything wrong there. Votto is just that kind of hitter. There are only a few guys who could take that pitch and go opposite field homerun with it.

In other words, wow.

I was thinking the exact same thing. "How the &%$&$# did he hit THAT out?"

Morneau used to be one of those guys, BTW. Good times.

What about the world series :)

In my dreams for sure, but probably not in the real world.

Well that sucked. Twins offense let Diamond down today big time.

Yeah, that swing brought back memories of pre-concussion Morneau. That was the first thing I thought when I saw it.

Flailing at a pitch low and away, looking like he made poor contact, and then the ball travels 300+ feet opposite field.

Another nice play by Dozier -- now we need a run against the Reds' closer. Wife is pestering me to leave for Costco. I will be in big trouble if this goes to extra innings.

How would a Glavine comp for Diamond be? I think Glavine had a few more mph on his fastball and a little better stuff, but I don't think that would be a too far fetched goal for Diamond.

I have the distinct feeling that this half-inning is going to be cringe-worthy.

So far so true.

Tom Glavine? Future hall of famer Tom Glavine?

Diamond threw only 82 pitches in 8 innings today -- pretty impressive.

I'm not trying to say Diamond will have a career path similar to his, but his pitching style and make-up are pretty similar (I think). I used to watch braves games when I was young and Glavine was in his prime. Maybe I'm wrong, but for some reason Diamond makes me think of Glavine.

Suck on that one Reds -- Hammer's blast not even close -- he got all of that one -- upper deck and then some. And now Plouffe will get a chance to add his second homer of the day (after Morneau grounds out).

That was one hell of an at bat by Baby Jesus.
