Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I highly encourage all of you to put on your Thome Is My Homey t-shirts right now. Today's Twins starting lineup brought to you by Joe Christensen: #Twins vs. RH Kendrick: Span 8, Revere 9, Mauer 2, Willingham 7, Morneau 3, Doumit DH, Plouffe 5, Dozier 6, Carroll 4 (Blackburn P) By the way, in the past 14 days, Trevor Plouffe's .800 slugging percentage is the fourth-highest in baseball. In that time Plouffe (.371 BA) and Ben Revere (.370 BA) have been hotter than hell. I'm considering borrowing the line from Major League II "Black Hammer and White Lightening" when referring to them. Help me make this so.

James Verified Member Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Too bad there is no like button on this site Agreed. It may be a reference to second favorite major league movie, but the "Black Hammer, White Lightning" was well played.
Scheherezade Provisional Member Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 What's Parmelee doing in the majors?
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 So Plouffe has governor potential?
snepp Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Blacksie's arm must be sufficiently tired tonight, groundballs o' plenty.
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Blacksie's arm must be sufficiently tired tonight, groundballs o' plenty.Love it. They say he needs his arm to be tired to pitch better. Why not let him go to 120 if hes pitching well?
striker_86 Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 What has gotten into Plouffe lately? I love it. I was skeptical of Gardy leaving him in the lineup every night. But clearly this kid has some serious major league power.
striker_86 Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Okay Mauer, lets blow this game open with a double..
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 not a double but got a hit. I'm so excited that this team is playing up to its potential. Mostly Plouffe, I have gotten so much grief for being a big Plouffe backer for the last 3 years. Happy I didn't lose hope or back off my opinion. hes making me look smart.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I would be nice to wear out the Phils starter and bullpen tonight so that they have a thin bullpen for the rest of this series.
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Well I'm happy to be one of you! Well Kendrick has thrown 47 pitches but id be nice to take on another 2 runs and get him out of there
striker_86 Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Especially with Blanton going on Thursday. Might be tough to know Hammels out tomorrow....
snepp Verified Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Plouffe hit the piss out of that ball too.
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Minor league update Rochester losing 2-0 in the 7th. Valencia and Wilkin Ramirez 2 singles each. NB postponed Ft. Myers up 5-3 in the 7th. Danny Rams grand slam Beloit losing 3-1 in the 4th. Matthew Koch double and a run scored.
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Do the Twins trade Valencia at the deadline? And do they get more for him than they got for, say, Delmon?
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Phils seem to be figuring Blackburn out in the 4th -- we really need an out here.
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Do the Twins trade Valencia at the deadline? And do they get more for him than they got for, say, Delmon? If Plouffe continues to play this well I think that they trade either Valencia or Span. Span will draw more but be harder to part with. They might go that route if they value Valencia more than other GMs might. I say either one because they could move revere to center and Plouffe to right. The Delmon trade isnt looking bad. Cole Nelson looks like he could be a very solid starter with K potential. And Oliveros could be a future closer.
Chance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 this game got uncomfortable in the last five minutes
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 This is getting bad.-- Blackburn can't seem to get that one out that we needed.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Span needs to get on base -- we need more runs.
