True Dat. Recently I have been liking our 1 & 2 spots in the order, very, very much. They are definitely swinging the sticks well. This offense seemingly has their engines running. Except for the hick-up here or there (like Sunday's game). Swing away Merrill!

Who would want Blackburn's contract even if it was for a bag of balls? Liriano and Valencia both have the potential to be good, but have also been very inconsistent. And with the extra wild card slot this year, I wonder if there are many teams are going to be willing to give up an above average starter unless they can get someone who is more consistent than these three

Great defense by Plouffe and Morneau to make an important play. And I am glad that Revere and Span were able to avoid a collision. I am already sick about the Rosario injury.

Besides the Duensing aberration, the bullpen shuts the door once again. Great to see the lineup click top to bottom. Plouffe's swing reminds me of Cuddy's, anyone else?

I am not sure about the Cuddy comparison, but it is damn clear that Target field does not intimidate Willingham or Plouffe power wise.

I should think no. I think the Target field aura got into Kubel's head and became psycho-somatic (I think this goes for other current players as well), so it doesn't surprise me that new guys who haven't been inundated with the aura of 'vast expanses' of TF don't let it affect them. Regardless, I will opine that unless you are a pull-hitting power lefty, the park is easier on righties.

Plouffe 15th... that is also my day of birth. If things keep going the way they are we might have a few cities named Plouffeapolis and St. Plouffe... "The Plouffe Cities".

I 100% agree with your Kubel theory and the fact that it has psychologically messed with the heads of a few other Twins in the power category. Willingham and Plouffe have been a delight to say the least!

Yeah, there's no way that's correct. A 0.0% chance would mean that even if the Twins won the rest of their games and teams ahead of them lost the rest of their games, they still wouldn't make the playoffs. As it stands now, the Twins are only 8.5 games out of first with 102 games remaining....far from impossible.
