The AB where Abreu hit the HR is an example of why watching Mauer leaves me...frustrated.

 

2-0 pitch, Abreu is looking fastball, takes a big hack.  Foul ball, nothing exciting, but the middle of your order SHOULD be looking to hit the ball hard on a 2-0 pitch.  

 

Mauer would have taken that pitch.

 

The count goes to 3-1, same situation.  Abreu is looking to hit the ball hard if he gets a pitch he can handle.  He does, and does. 

 

Mauer would have taken that pitch.

 

Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but IMO Abreu is playing the game the correct way.

Harrelson also once said that Henry Winkler reminded him of Robin Ventura so... Who knows. Hawk also said that Kirstie Alley reminded him of Pete Incaviglia.

I just started this game, I watched the Gophs first. For those TIVOing it, one of the greatest football games I ever saw. Back to the twins, Gardy was quoted as saying that due to the Sox being non contenders he would be giving some players evaluation time..... Guess I did not expect it to be Pryor and Nunez!

Well, sometimes you can't catch a break.

 [a large bus full of gorgeous women in bikinis pull up beside them and three step out]

Bikini Girl: Hi guys. We're going on a national bikini tour, and we're looking for two oil boys who can grease us off before each competition.

Lloyd Christmas: You are in luck! There's a town about three miles that way. I'm sure you'll find a couple guys there.

Bikini Girl: [baffled] Okay, thanks.

[the doors close and the bus drives off. After a second, Lloyd turns to Harry]

Harry Dunne: Do you realize what you've done?

[they run after the bus]

Harry Dunne: HEY! HEY!

Lloyd Christmas: Lloyd! Lloyd!

[the bus stops and opens the doors]

Harry Dunne: [panting] You'll have to excuse my friend. He's a little slow. The town is back *that* way.
