USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I'm searching for a word to describe today's game, despite Hughes' effort, and the end of this season. "Desultory" comes to mind.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 17 Strikeouts is beyond words. I didn't see the game but if you factor in that 4 of those K's came against the relievers. I don't think it was all Quintana. I'm guessing a large part has to be attached to our Twins. Again... I didn't see the game but 17 strikeouts is beyond words.
GCTF Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Has everyone been fired before the start of the second game? Need to know before I commit to watching.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 We're getting the second game off to a better start. Well stroked, Mr. Arcia.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Arcia! Now has three runs to his credit to give back in the outfield.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Actually Riverbrian said: They are the streakiest team in baseball... They get ungodly hot and then ungodly cold. Oakland and Milwaukee would like your statistical staff to review their body of work in 2014 and re-confirm your statement. Actually, the Twins have been pretty hot and cold this season too. It's just that they aren't very good, so that when they have a 17 game hot streak the result is 8-9 and we all fail to notice.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I don't know how Minn sports can get much worse. Lucky we have the twins to keep our spirits up!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Why are the Sox starting a rookie who was born September 24, 1984? Who do they think they are, the Twins?
snepp Verified Member Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Who wants to win this game less?
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Welp, gotta run, won't be able to see how this gripping clash of titans comes out. It's possible that the morning paper tomorrow will carry the results, though they may not bother to stop the presses.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Welp, gotta run, won't be able to see how this gripping clash of titans comes out. Now i'm waiting to see what happens when Gardy says "Release the Kraken!" It might not be a pitchers duel, but it still could be a good game.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Announcers were pointing out that afternoon lighting handicaps the hitters.I suppose... All though... That mellows my harshness and I didn't want to do that.

And I contend that Kansas City has been doing it since Willie Wilson. The Twins... Mmm... In my opinion... They lack the hot streak part of the equation.
hawkiconk Provisional Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 the longer this game laststhe shorter time we have to think about big10 football

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 the longer this game laststhe shorter time we have to think about big10 footballI watched the Gopher game during the break between doubleheader games. I had too much time and had to find something else to do for a few minutes.

I was liking the Gophers chances after Eastern Illinois and Middle Tennessee State. It looks like the Gophers may struggle with schools that don't have a direction in their name. If Kill would just schedule Louisiana Schools... They could run the table.
