I wonder if on my last day, I will look back on my life and wonder if this was how I should have spent nights like this?

What is STAT

Is that another one of your journalistic shortcuts? :)

Not sure what it means, but when they yell it in hospitals everyone starts running? Maybe it's slang for the ice cream truck is in the parking lot??

Another comeback needed, STAT.

Yes, the subdural hematoma suffered by the Twins deserves both immediate medical attention and direct intervention from Schemeel, schlemazel, STATs n' effers Incorporated.

There are, oh, Idunno, 3 people in the 40+ seats visible behind home plate. Prolly not a big deal with all the people who need to be at work first thing on a Saturday morning...

Only 80 losses, Dirt?  You sure?  It doesn't seem a bit over 77....

Oh well.

Call me crazy, and I only saw the last couple innings, but this almost felt like a playoff game. Guys working at-bats, Plouffe's double, unbelievable. Arcia's throw from medium deep right -- I'll go to war any day of the week with that guy.

23,477 is tonight's attendance. About 3,000 left in the stadium

You didn't see the Giant Lizard walking down 1st street. Everyone running for their lives... Helpless people on the light rail screaming "My God" as the lizard looked in on them.

There was a time that I wondered that exact thing. After a lot of thought... I decided it was exactly how I should spend my nights.

I'm the guy in a Twins windbreaker on his phone.

Because I'm at the ballpark, on the game thread messaging you guys..

So you passed up a chance to pitch the Twins to a win in order to attend to personal business and help the Twins have a chance for  a better draft choice next year?

Well done, sir.  Well done.

I do what I can.

Employees included.  So 2500 fans.  That's bad, especially for a relatively new stadium and a bankable (former?) star like Mauer.

From the Latin 'statim' meaning 'you call that a strike?'

They certainly have been playing the Angels tight. Would have been cool to see Gardy go all-out, though, and try to use Perkins in that jam in the 8th, or even just to pitch the 10th.

I do like that he's been working in the new relievers, though I probably would have done even more of it.  Granted, we saw all of Swarzak/Duensing/Burton/Fien, but it's a game with playoff implications.  We also saw Thompson/Pressly/Tonkin.

I like the battlin' that's going on, that's for sure.

Your Vance Worley update from yesterday's game: 4 2/3 IP, 5 H, 4 BB, 6 K, 1 WP.  3 R, 2 ER.  I recognize the hits and walks, but the K's don't sound like Worley to me.

-- OK, 2 of the K's were of Javier Baez, who has 53 in 132 plate appearance (a 40% K rate).  So Worley's 6 K's are actually 4.3K's, Baez-adjusted.
