Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So... The wife and I drove to Argyle Minnesota for dinner last night... About 45 minutes away. She was told by a friend that the restaurant is worth the drive so she's wanted to do this for awhile. We get there... It's closed for the Labor Day weekend. So we go to Warren Minnesota and eat there. It was Ok... But the menu prices still have me confused. My wife had the walleye... The price 17 99 for one fillet... 19 99 for two fillets. I told her to get two. I had the Chicken... 10 95 for a 2 piece Dinner 11 95 for a bucket of 8. I got the bucket of 8. My math was working for me... I'm glad I learned that in kindergarten.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Yeah, that Beane is magical, with all the world series and AL pennants his team has won with his can't-lose strategies.LOL... As the Animals once sang... Please don't let me be misunderstood. I don't bow at his alter. He's just a guy and he seems to be a crazy guy on occasion. I don't place him above other GM's. But... I think he has guts... Right or wrong... The trades he makes... Other GM's wouldn't do.

I know ... but without results it just seems to be doing something for the sake of doing something. But I get what you're saying. Wasn't really a jab at you ... just kind of a reality check for those who think he's so great. But I'll give you crazy, just not sure it's panic or guts.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 And leftovers are always good. Send that doggy bag this way.Yep... We got leftovers and I like cold chicken. But I've never seen prices like that. I was laughing all the way home.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 I'm getting on a plane tomorrow morning ... the flight leaves at 8am; because it's Midway, it's recommended to get there 90 minutes early. Because it's Midway, I know better and will plan on 120 minutes. I need to get my Global Entry application done and in so I can try and lessen all my line waiting at airports. Have I mentioned before how much I hate plane travel? Ugh. And I have a lot of it coming up with this tour in October.

The Dunn trade may be a panic move but his other deals seem to come in the off season or at Non Panic times. I gotta go with Guts with a large dose of crazy.

"Rockin Down the Highway".Because 5 days in Florida isn't worth 4 days on the road to go to/from. But yes, when I have 2 weeks, I drive it. Well, it's always my plan to drive it until my parents call me a week before and plead with me not to drive because it's too worrisome for them. They always offer to pay, but no way am I taking money from them.

The 1st pill cost 1 billion dollars.

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Beane has guts and he's all in for this year. He drained the farm for right now and it will have to be rebuilt later... He does rebuild frequently... In the coming years... He will trade Donaldson and others for prospects and start over. I don't think I'd have that type of guts but I sit back and marvel at it.Who's going to harvest the potatoes in Oakland? With the lack of farmers.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 If I had money, I'd prefer living in San Francisco, tyvm. You're not the only one, which coincidentally explains why it takes so much money.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 It's a one bedroom and it cost 1.6 million dollars. Umm... The 2nd bedroom cost 1.7 million dollars.I did say ... 'if I had money' ... so I think from that, I'm in fantasy land and don't really care about the realities.

If you're not going to make an offer, can you point me to the realtor for that one? I thought those were all gone. Maybe it's a teardown. Have to check it out.
