Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Be very, very careful if you are asked to install the Windows 8.1 August update. I FINALLY found a story about the problems: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-8-1-August-Update-Breaks-Down-Some-PCs-Causes-Black-Screen-at-Boot-455173.shtml I've had 2 days of h*llish cr*p with my laptop. Ended up doing the system refresh which reverted me to 8.0. Just now I instally 99 driver updates from Dell. I don't even think I'll try the 8.1 update again until tomorrow. Kept my files but lost all my programs. It has not been a good couple of days. There is a one word answer to all your woes ... Apple.

Those I like.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I am not going to go too far out on a limb, but I think the Twins will get a hit this inning.

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 There is a one word answer to all your woes ... Apple. I tried MAC and absolutely hated it. I think I'm too right-brained or something.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 On Friday... A co-worker brought a bunch of vegetables. I barely know what vegetables are but I certainly didn't know what these were. She said what they were but now I can't remember and it's bugging me. They were like peas but you squeeze the pod to get them out.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 First K for Mauer since he came off the DL.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Soy beans?Could be... But they had an odd sing songy name.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 I tried MAC and absolutely hated it. I think I'm too right-brained or something. I just have had so many fewer problems using a mac and find them to be much more intuitive. But we each have our own experiences and it boils down to what we're used to.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Well, at least the game is moving along.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Could be... But they had an odd sing songy name. Thought maybe it was Fava beans but you take the string off and open the pod on them like you do peas.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Could be... But they had an odd sing songy name.I'm trying to remember because I told my wife I had some veggies and she asked what kind and that's when I drew a blank. Now she's thinking... My lack of veggies is a crisis because I can't name what I had.

But we each have our own experiences and it boils down to what we're used to. It's the intuitive I don't like because my "intuitive" is totally different than theirs. So it's probably that I am left-brain dominant (not right). I can follow almost anything with logic but the intuitive part escapes me.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Edimame? That's it... Now I can tell my wife. She's gonna sarcastically say "Good for you Honey".
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 That's soy beans, btw.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Edimame?Yup, he didn't know what they were, but he et 'em anyway.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Edimame? So Chief was really close with his "soybean" answer!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Bert talking about OF defense. Yesterday, LEN3 criticized all three OFs. I didn't think Schafer deserved any criticism. He chased Hammer's double and it lodged under the padding. Nothing he could do about that.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 That's soy beans, btw.Why don't they call them Soy Beans?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Why don't they call them Soy Beans? Because people will pay more for edamame.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 There's a restaurant near me that serves this appetizer ... sort of an Asian equivalent to chips and guac ... is an edimame dip togarashi chips. Is actually quite good. http://www.asian-outpost.com/#!menu/c5hf
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Also, people tend to associate "soybeans" with animal food despite the popularity of "soy". Lots of recipes with edamame floating around nowdays.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Why don't they call them Soy Beans?Because they are immature soy beans. Just boil 'em and salt 'em and done.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Could be... But they had an odd sing songy name.Edamame?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Bro is traveling and bought tickets to the Rockies game tonight, which is now in a water delay, due to a water main break. Who knows when it'll get played.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Edamame? All ready there and gone, sconnie
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Wife: You need to eat more vegetables Me: I don't mind vegetables but if I'm looking at a steak and a bunch of veggies... I'm going for the steak. Ice Cream or Veggies... Again... I gotta go with the Ice Cream. Wife: Whens the last time you had a Vegetable. Me: Yesterday... Jen dropped some off in my office. Wife: Something out of her garden? Me: I don't know... They were... Ummm... She told me what they were and I don't remember. Wife: Good God Brian... You can't even identify a Vegetable. How far removed are you from them?
