nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 No surprise he didn't go to Rochester when he was Designated for DFA.
Twins GFP Verified Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 He will probably sign with a National League team, tear it up, and the Twins will get ripped for giving up on him...

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino 2m #MNTwins might still be able to get a lower-level prospect for Kubel if they cover all but pro-rated minimum going forward. Worth a shot.

Worth a shot. Outlook not so good. Last August, Arizona ate his salary and all they got was a fringe 40-man reliever who is now pitching independent ball. Even if that's what Berardino means by "lower-level prospect", I doubt the Twins could even get that now, as Kubel looks less fit for an MLB roster than ever before. I think the only way the Twins could trade him at all is if he was willing to take a minor league assignment, which does not appear to be the case (although maybe a more favorable geographic location or path back to the majors would change his mind).
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Could the twins decide to keep him and pull him back into the fold? To be clear i dont want this to happen...im curious if its possible

(Technically, I suppose they could release him and re-sign him and put him back on the roster.)
