mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 How is the franchise going to do tonight!?!?! Is he rested and refreshed? Or will he maintain his ERA of 11, and be heading down to AAA next week?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 To the bullpen after another disappointing start.
mnfireman Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 How about a no-no tonite to celebrate(early) the one year anniversary of his only good start over the past two seasons!!
Mauerzy4Prez Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I truly think we will see Frankie have a mental breakdown tonight... 2 bombs back to back. Right into the fire!
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Why on earth did they bother starting him again?
jctwins Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Well Smalley really likes what he's seeing, and that's a pretty objective analysis.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 His ERA us down to 10.45!!!!!!
wreakshavok Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 After throwing away Ortiz-Hardy etc it makes you wonder ah what the hell release Liriano and lets see if he can win a cy young!
darin617 Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Maybe he should try throwing Right-handed. The results can't be much different. If Yu Darvish can throw left and right so can Frankie.
Gernzy Verified Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Just don't get whats going on with him. Some innings he looks downright nasty. Other innings he doesn't even know what he's doing. Maybe he needs a shrink. See whats wrong in that head of his.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Sometimes it takes a pitcher about 10 starts to get it all togather. They will be fine.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Again there he is sucking. He needs to move to the bullpen.
YourHouseIsMyHouse Provisional Member Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Liriano needs to go. Biggest headache for the Twins that I can remember. He simply can't play anymore.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Again there he is sucking. He needs to move to the bullpen.Nice inning by Swarzak though.......
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Nice inning by Swarzak though.......Followed by an equally bad one........sigh!
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 Liriano shuts them down in exciting fashion!!! llol
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Liriano cant hit his spots. It's a serious mechanical, mental and control issue with him. I'm half serious when I say that he should just try to throw the ball down the middle. I bet he'd nail more corners that way.

Just trusting his stuff and not worrying about location/spots will server him well as a first step toward building his confidence, command and effectiveness.

It's like watching a High School pitcher. The Catcher can set a target but he has to move his glove somewhere else to catch it. There isn't much sense in calling for an inside or outside location. Moving it around to set up the hitter isn't a club in his bag. You might as well set the target dead center. Let him try to throw it dead center. Chances are that he won't hit the target dead center and he will randomly hit corners by accident. Is it possible with Liriano... the safest method to avoid grooving one is to actually try grooving one? Other than that... I'm out of ideas.
