  1. I believe that's concurn't.
  2. Did I stumble into some weird parallel universe?
  3. If SWR gets traded again his agent better insist on payment for therapy services.
  4. I get what you are saying about losing Garver, but hanging on to Donaldson? His predicted production last year was much higher than an actual production leaving some to call him unlucky. He was not unlucky, he can't run. Good move getting out of those last 2 years. I would take Urshela and Miranda the next 2 years over Donaldson in a heartbeat.
  5. Every silver lining has a cloud, sometimes apparently a dark dark cloud. Give it a rest bro.
  6. With Pineda signing and this deal, no doubt they get a frontline starter and ease much hand wringing and teeth gnashing. Again hilarious, I can't wait to watch Falvey's presser!
  7. The weird thing not mentioned is when the season started in 2020 Thorpe was hitting 94, as in the above video clip, and it appeared we might have something. Then the velo dropped, he said he had a dead arm, then was shut down. Maybe Wes got him growing harder, but his body couldn't take it. The mystery of Lewis Thorpe may be solved this year.
  8. Berrios said he really liked Toronto and it's diversity. Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in North America. A family from Puerto Rico might not feel at home in a city like Minneapolis. Could be something as personal as that. And, yes, we don't know.
  9. Some of the biggest punchers in boxing have skinny arms. Being muscle bound doesn't necessarily translate to explosive power.
  10. The convoluted nature of the last day illustrates how averse the FO is to big contacts for pitchers. Maeda and Gray both have very team friendly deals. They don't appear as averse to large deals for position players such as Donaldson. It follows then that they will add Story and trade for a pitcher who has a uniquely team friendly deal. Now if someone figures out who that pitcher is you could save us all much suspense.
  11. When I admire people with advanced degrees it would be the type that would take far less pay than the private sector would offer building schools and clinics for USAID. Admiring greedy billionaire business people is just licking the boot.
  12. Sorry at this point I'm not reading the article. I got some email request about my MLB subscriptions, maybe we all should just cancel what we have pending. Might send a message, meanwhile I am happily occupied with other endeavors.
  13. Agree with everything here except not only will stuff happen before the season starts, I'll bet the deals are already in place and will happen immediately when it is allowed.
  14. Anybody worried about how the ACL will effect Lewis' speed/athleticism needs to watch a highlight of Dalvin Cook or AP pulling away from defenders. Not going to be an issue. The issue with Lewis, besides besides his annoying propensity to refer to himself in the 3rd person, is his leg kick. That would be why you would rank Martin ahead of him. Lewis' leg kick was as flamboyant as his personality. He has much to prove at the plate.
  15. Oh if that's the case well then hells yeah. Canterino looks to be averaging over 6 innings per so that could be many many pitches
  16. In his three college years he pitched 15-17 starts and 94-99 innings. His second year at Rice he added 24 innings in a summer league. After his third year the Twins had him pitch 25 extra innings in the pros. So in three successive years he pitched 94, 118 and then 124 innings. Looks like he was on his way until 2020 screwed it up. Hope he can get his health back AND keep the upgraded stuff. Not sure 15-17 starts at 6+ per is being over worked.
  17. An athletic 6' 3" and listed at 210, but I'm sure that number is light.
  18. "Hershel says this kid might be good" a quote from Hershel Walker fresh off another resounding MMA shellacking, "Hershel don't know what it is, but I like this kid".
  19. Gordon is on the opening day roster fo sho
  20. 18 second pitch clock. Velocity will come down across the board, and I suspect injuries as well. Not to mention more CONTACT!
  21. Good thing the Twins didn't trade a heralded closer. They traded an above average reliever for good young prospects while he had value. What he became later allows you to look back on the trade with hindsight. Ok I find that kind of information valuable as a tool for learning and experience. Using hindsight to re-grade every decision and chastise the decision maker every time an asset they spend turns into a good player is not my cuppa. Now, of course if the front office is unsuccessful they probably have many instances that look bad in hindsight and maybe someone else needs a chance to direct the team. Alcala and Celestino can still make this a good trade in spite of Pressley's success.
