  1. Totally get it, we were freezing this AM. I think the low was 51 with some light rain.
  2. I had completely forgotten about him. He's actually got some pretty solid numbers (including college ball). Could be a fun watch this season.
  3. But you're not anonymous to me or us Mikelink45. We see you and think greatly of you . Seriously... you seem like a cool (albeit sometimes grumpy) dude. I got your back amigo.
  4. Aaaaand the childish retorts emerge. Feel better now?? If not, I personally don't mind if you want to try again. Perhaps you just need a hug??
  5. I may have missed some... but what I read was soreness, not pain. Yes he was worried, but then I can't say I blame the guy. However he isn't the first athlete, and definitely won't be the last, to doubt or not fully trust that an injury has healed enough.
  6. Grumpy Cat says your argument is invalid. He said it... I'm just the messenger. He threatened to cut me if I didn't pass it along.
  7. I can understand and even empathize with that. But... I would counter that despite that, and even because of that, you should root for him. He's on our favorite team and I've never heard anything that would say he's not a decent human being. If he does well, it only helps the team do better overall. I understand why many Twins fans are super hesitant (if not outright hostile to the signing), but it doesn't hurt to hope (and pray ) that he succeeds here. Baseball is hard, we don't need to make it harder .
  8. If for no other reason, it's another great baseball name
  9. All (or at least some) joking aside... Just looking across the board at the SEC this year, there are some scary good teams. Looks like a lot of good college baseball this year .
  10. While I believe I understand your sentiment... injuries are no ones fault. If you choose to start fashioning a noose for the FO for other picks, that's your call. However, outside of consecutive hard/bad luck injuries, Lewis has done nothing to indicate that he is anything other than a really good baseball player.
  11. I’d have to concur. I understand that it’s a bit more work, but the list should almost be pitchers and fielders (2 lists). I think Seth started to do that some last year, mostly because because we all perceive the two very differently.
  12. I think folks have made a lot of good points, but I still feel that the current voting system if flawed at best, and possibly broken from some view points. I am totally ok with the BBWA having a big say in who gets in; but having the only vote is a travesty (IMHO). Watching some of the coverage last night on the MLB network really left me (again) with the sense that the players themselves should have a big say in who gets in (in the first ballot.... I realize that the other committees have player input). This could take the form of prior selectees (players/coaches/GMs, etc.) to the Hall having a ballot (AKA something similar to former Heisman winners having a vote/ballot for who wins the Heisman each year). The reason being is that I have a hard time taking some of the writers seriously because they have never played it competitively.
  13. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/01/marlins-devin-smeltzer-agree-to-minor-league-contract.html Per MLBTR, Devins Smeltzer has signed a Minor Leagie deal with a ST Invite with the Marlins. I for one wish you well Devin and God Speed this next season.

  15. Truist is awesome. Nice park, but what makes it spectacular is “The Battery”. It’s a whole district built especially for the stadium right around it (shops, restaurants, hotels). Just a heck of a fan experience. My son’s team stayed there for one of the the GA state baseball playoff rounds last year. Braves were out of town, but the the place was still packed. Will definitely try to make it there for this series 😊.
  16. It's fair to wonder and question if Blazer Beam bounces back from a nightmare season (I for one, believe he has the talent and stuff to be able to do so... but we shall see). Depending on his health, and if he is pitching even close to how he was performing at the A - AA levels, I'm willing to bet that we see him for at least spot start or a late season call up. However, SWR had a great season overall and pitched a decent 5 innings in his MLB debut (as a 21 y.o. at that) Here's SWR's line last year... While SWR is most likely further behind in the pitching depth chart, he is still currently a legit prospect who just made his MLB debut. That isn't to say that I believe we should hang all our hopes and expectations on him, but he showed last year that he is capable of making at least a solid contribution at the ML level.
  17. Looks good, but Garlick was DFA'd off the 40 man just recently. Not that he couldn't be added back, but there would need to be a corresponding move to clear space.
  18. Can't argue that... a .795 OPS should get you cut and banned from the league
  19. You could say that. I don't believe that to be the case though.
  20. Yes, yes they do. If they didn't, this wouldn't be baseball.
