  1. I can't speak for every player... only the ones I have seen first hand or have personal knowledge of (but yes, it is a LOT of players). Due to travel ball (prior to college ball), my son was playing probably at a minimum 60-70+ games a season. This didn't count practices, workouts, other development work etc. While my son is a really good player, and he was never considered a "big time" recruit, he's never made it through a season "healthy". Now pan over to the super hyped recruits and prospects. These guys are playing and working non-stop at a level that greatly exceeds what my son did. It truly never ends. Even "healthy" players aren't truly healthy. They still have a litany of bumps, bruises, aches, and general soreness. The human body can only handle so much. This isn't to say that I don't think they can't heal up with rest and therapy. Just that they usually don't get that necessary time because of the environment and competitive cycle they put themselves through. Jenkins should be fine with proper rest and treatment, but him and all other ball players will always be at risk for further injury simply because they usually can't take 100% of the time that their bodies need (although that will always be different lengths of time for each player because we as humans all heal differently).
  2. Apologies, it’s Latin. Just a prayer for Buc’s and Correa’s continued health and safety. 😊.
  3. Dominus eos benedicat et per hoc momentum ad salutem et prosperitatem, tum in campo tum extra, tuto ducat 🙏🏻✝️. Amen.
  4. Yeah, he's a grinder and baseball "dude". Going to be fun to watch him play this season.
  5. The talent was there. They wouldn't have been talked about otherwise. However... guys get hurt (a lot). That takes a huge toll on the human body. The litany of injuries (acute and possibly more importantly... nagging/lingering) these guys and all ball players in general have endured through the years would blow most peoples minds. I thank the Lord for the fact that my son's limbs are still attached (he pitches in college) after all these years. At the end of a season, he states that his arm, knee, hamstring, quad, scap, etc. feels like hamburger and they're ready to fall off. Even the "healthy" players are hurting.
  6. I also live out of market so I'll be the first to admit that I may have missed anything new on that. Although I would be curious to see what extra Padres fans paid (if any) to watch local broadcasts since they were available on multiple local options w/MLB taking their broadcast over.
  7. I remember going to (then) Safeco field and watching him play in his "rookie" season. Guy was an absolute beast on the diamond. Before the start of the season, all the local talking heads spouted the narrative that Japanese players couldn't hack it in the majors. Plus, watching him ABSOLUTELY hose a runner trying to stretch out a hit was awesome. Freakishly huge arm. So... I understand a person choosing to make that decision. I don't even remotely support it, however I understand and do defend it. Plus I guarantee that he hates puppies and the Make a Wish foundation.
  8. True, that might be a possibility that folks who live in MN have to pay extra for Twins access. Somehow though... seems a bit overkill by MLB to have you pay for MLB.tv (not a huge amount, but still... not an insignificant amount either) and then pay for extra on top of that to watch in-market games (especially if Black Outs are a thing of the past). Not saying with 100% certainty that folks back home won't have to pay for local access, just that from what I've read it sounds like your standard MLB subscription will cover it. Of course if there are any folks who live in the areas that MLB has already taken over broadcasting, would love to hear from them on this.
  9. Not quite the case about the Twins+ thing. As a MLB.TV subscriber (for years) I've been able to watch all the MLB broadcast teams games w/o any additional subscriptions. Shouldn't change any with the Twins broadcast this year.
  10. Thanks Lucas. As always, these articles are super informative and greatly appreciated. As a parent of a player in college, I can also attest to the amounts of pain and discomfort so many of these players are dealing with on a daily basis. While I dread the day that my sons playing days are finished and he hangs up his spikes, a big part of me will also welcome not having to watch him grit through various maladies, aches, and injury scares. Alex made the right decision. God Speed young man, prayers and blessings upon you and your family.
  11. Baseball is difficult, unforgiving, and exceptionally cruel... and that is often at the best of times. In the dark times, it becomes an existential crisis that can consume a man's soul when it is your whole world. God be with you Edouard, I will continue to pray that you fully find your way out of the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Trust the process and believe in the Lord and he will deliver you. Amen
  12. Let's perhaps hold off on the "He lacks the stuff" for just a moment. It's only one (1) start at AAA. His overall track record since his Freshman year in college to now is pretty good. I'm willing to give him a little more time yet 🙂.
  13. Not the best timing though on that post 🤷🏻‍♂️.
  14. Love Festa’s nickname given to him by Varland, “The Slim Reaper”.
  15. More truer words have never been spoken 😊.
  16. The Air Force version of the E-4 Mafia must have hated you then 😉.
  17. He's 19, just out of HS and coming off a leg injury a player needs to be careful with. Perhaps we should give him some time before we say he needs to "prove it". 🤷‍♂️ Just my two cents worth.
  18. They're Pale Hose fans... is there any other reason for their debauchery and wretched existence? 🤷‍♂️😉
  19. It was games played, not started. Even so, given that there is still a lot a ball left to be played, games started isn't out of the realm of possibilities either. 🤷‍♂️🙂
  20. I believe he has played at least 20 games at each position, not necessarily started at each. Example he may start at 2B, then move over to 3B later in the same game, etc.
