  1. Trade Grossman for whatever is available....keep Granite as a 4th outfielder with MUCH more versitility. If nothing is available for Grossman...it tells you that we are overvaluing his one talent and DFA-Away!
  2. For those in the know….are Littell and Enns better than Ynoa? If so, how much? Seems like a good overall sequence of transactions.
  3. Sell has always been the right answer (even if we sweep Oakland this weekend). This team will NOT progress deep into the playoffs under any circumstances. I lament that we did not trade Santana 2-4 weeks ago when he was truly at peak value if a good offer was on the table. And I am very happy about this season and the progress being made. But the window opens in 2019….Santana will not be part of that.
  4. Dear Twins, That “ding” you keep hearing every day is the MiLB oven timer going off…. I’m ready and the Twins bench and offense are hungry! Yours Truly, Mitch Garver
  5. Good trade for all these reasons ... and without it things could have gone south...and fast with the rotation
  6. 6.2 innings per start this year with a 1.3 WHIP and 4.3 ERA?! This is exactly what we need as a#4/5 starter and when you compare this to 3-4 innings per start with an 8-9 ERA…this is VERY helpful. BUT, we need to see the price of course. One for one makes me worried that this is going to be a higher ranking prospect than we would like to see… (hopefully more 15-20 than 11-15….anything higher than 20 is fantastic)
  7. Dear Twins FO, I was wondering if you have and game video and statistics to compare myself, Breslow, Belisle and Pressley. At this point, I figure you must have lost the footage and stats. It’s really the only explanation for them being in the majors instead of me. I even talked to an “advance analytics” guy because I know that you like that kind of stuff, and even he was confused. Anyhoo I’ll send you some video footage and stat comparisons. Everyone makes mistakes, Alan Bunsenitz
  8. I too think he has only begun to realize his full potential… He is showing this year that he can readjust after pitchers adjusted to him (this is by far the biggest step that a hitter can make). I will go a step further to predict that he will develop into a major threat and find himself in the #3 slot in the batting order in the next two years. There is also a chance (20%) that he ends up with a better career than Sano.
  9. Dear Twins, Why am not in your bullpen again? Thanks in advance for the clarification, Alan Busenitz
  10. I think Rooker has proven himself against high school all stars ("I keep getting older adn they stay the same age").... time to move along unless he part of an upcoming E-Town promotion
  11. Amen....Must trade Santana as well if a quality package is offered (and I think it will be)
  12. It is time for everyone to get comfortable trading our 34-year-old “ace” at his peak value (yes, there will be a good market unlike for Dozier). I am super optimistic about our core, but our window really opens in 2019 if we are being honest with ourselves. Santana will not be part of that….I promise
  13. Can we all agree that Santana needs to be traded for what promises to be nice package based on current market value? He is 34 and not part of our next deep playoff run (I promise!)
  14. ….add Planco to Rosario and Escobar (ie adding Planco to Gordon will not suddenly get us a young controllable #2 starter)
  15. The problem: trading Gordon alone will not yield the young controllable pitching we would want in return. Our other high prospects to add are pitchers we cannot afford to let go. We do not want to give up the “core four.” No other team will assign substantial trade value to Rosario or Escobar. Ergo, we keep him (unless another team wants to do something silly)
  16. Good for Granite....and good for the minor leagues to know that hard work and productivity will be rewarded even for prospects outside of the top 10!
  17. #3-5 starting pitching is a dumpster fire….IF Colon could CONSISTENTLY provide 5-6 innings of with 4-ish runs allowed, he would be a huge improvement. No risk what-so-ever and maybe someday we won’t need 13-14 pitchers on the 25 man roster!
  18. It's becoming harder and harder for me to ignore Sano's strike out rate. With his power, I have zero concerns that his home run total would take a hit if he focused more on contact.
  19. There is much to be optimistic about for this team but.... "no position player has made 12 relief appearances in his career, much less one season." This is a microcosm of our season. Our pitching staff has NO chance to guide us to any purposeful postseason run. ALL deadline decisions should be made for the future (and I would argue 2019).
  20. What are Max Murphy's limitations/weaknesses? What does he need to work on to progress from the fringe into mainstream prospect land? Thanks
  21. I think that Max Murphy has quietly pulled himself up a chair to the Twins prospects table. Good for him.
