  1. I'll always be a Twins Fan, but I'll be on a hiatus from 'loving' the Twins again until the Rocco Era eventually comes to an unceremonious conclusion (oh... and it will...and to keep repeating the repeatable.... he will never manage another MLB team... trust me that nobody else out there is clamoring for his 'services' ) The Vikings on the other hand have TWO elite coaches.... I don't know how well their season will ultimately end up, but I know the coaches will have maxed out the talent of the team!
  2. Both things can be true 1. It is almost a miracle that Buck played more than 80 game in CF this year and his WAR for 15 mil THIS year was a good deal. 2. There is no reason to ever 'celebrate' someone playing less than 2/3s of the games
  3. If the Twins bring back Rocco... they are going to experience something far worse than disappointment, frustration and anger..... they are going to experience indifference... by enough fans that it will hurt their bottom line. Of course, if the lowering payroll, decreasing performance, fan apathy death spiral continues.... in 2-3 years they will start threatening to move in an attempt to hold the fans hostage.... and then actually move if it doesn't work.... Bank on it
  4. Thank you for the hardy laugh.... The Pohlads couldn't bankrupt themselves on the Twins even if they made it their full time job
  5. THEILBAR TO THE... um...er....ah... rescue?
  6. Apparently not enough to prevent him from being slotted in as batting leadoff last night 🙃🙄
  7. THIS was the type of bullpen urgency needed in the second game of the double header on Sunday when the Twins still had a chance! But no.... Irvin... the castoff that lasted a couple weeks was given the high leverage opportunity at the pivotal point in the season. (all while Alaca down in AAA) On a separate note. Julian leading off....REALLY.... Good Lord Rocco... make it stop
  8. Many of us have been voting for Rocco to be that change for almost 3 years (fingers and toes crossed!) Would have loved a follow up question for Correa..."has your manager exuded any sense of urgency or leadership? Has he encouraged others to do extra things like Correa?"
  9. MAKE IT OFFICIAL! (it's over)
  10. Well researched.... but still a hard no as the leadoff hitter in a game of consequence because he is not fast, is not an on base machine, and not the first choice on the team to get as many ABs as early as possible.
  11. Let me put this in kindergarten language for Rocco.... If you are going to bat Margot leadoff in a game of consequence.... You get what you get... and you don't get upset.
  12. The Twins have a fever...and the only cure is.....MORE IRVIN!
  13. We know that Rocco won't burn his Irvin option tonight so that he can save him for later in the week in a close game against a left hander....
  14. Perhaps the Twins player are passive aggressively showing Rocco the door..... I'm er.... a..... not....not ok with that?!
  15. This.... this... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand......THIS! I came to say this but thank you for saving me the time. Just can't anymore.... was Rocco's goal to avoid the temptation to pinch it Margot later in the game during a crucial at bat (because lord knows he cannot resist that urge!)
  16. But if Margot is not back next year.... how will we know how high he can take the hitless pinch-hitting record? (because you know that Rocco will be back and that if he has Margot available, he'll use him...)
  17. I suspect he'll stay there until Walter F-ing Jenkins or E-Rod is ready to displace him (probably 2026). The problem is that his bat does not play well enough for DH or a corner outfield position unfortunately. I suspect that the Twins will end up eating a few years at the end of his contract via release or a trade where they still pick up the majority of his salary.
  18. So that is 5-10 wins we are leaving on the table which is generally a pretty big deal in the final standings.... Again....either managing matters and Rocco needs to go... Or managing doesn't matter and there is no harm in letting Rocco go and trying someone else
  19. Runs count the same in the 5th and 9th inning... if you blow up the 5th and 6th inning, there is no competitive 8th and 9th inning.... and you CRUSH the moral of your line up and defense. Do you think it feels different playing ahead by a run versus down by 6? Don't ignore the actual problem in front of you because of a concern about a hypothetical problem in the future And that's why using firemen in key high leverage situations will continue to be a strategy used by successful managers for important games. We literally used a reliver cast off a playoff team that new better in one of the most important... if not THE most important games of the season. This is not complicated... it was a ridiculous decision.
