  1. No thanks, unless Boston eats a chunk of that salary (which they won't)
  2. Agree with 90% of OP. Well written article. My only complaint is the term 'Arguably' It's become my own personal drinking game when reading TD. It's as bad as 'Moist'
  3. http://baseballtradevalues.com has Price valued at -60
  4. More Morneau in the booth. He's great, and I never thought that would be something he would do/be good at. He always seemed shy during his playing days. I think Morneau, Hunter, and Hawkins are a really good listen
  5. I've said before, but I appreciate your insight and effort. Just like to give props where they're due
  6. I love this kid and don't feel like in 3 years I'm going to look dumb for posting this. And yes, his defense does need to improve and I'm not concerned with his lack of power
  7. The Twins need to take their opportunities in small chunks at a time and attempt to win each inning on the path to making this a series before it’s over. I was thinking the same thing yesterday while watching football. How NFL teams break the season into quarters. This is not going to be easy. I don't think they can do it, but I'm not giving up hope after watching 140 plus games this year. My GF learned to speak Danish while I watched baseball. I need some sort of accomplishment for the almost 500 hours I devoted to this. Bigger fool me Go Twins
  8. There is nothing to save these guys for Absolutely. The end that we rested and rotated for is NOW. Managing in NYC in October NEEDS to be different than Detroit in August
  9. Didn't we knock Severino out in 2/3 of an inning 2 years ago? I know it's apples to oranges, but this team is much more talented than that one. Not to be all hippity dippity, but what's going to happen is going to happen. I think this is the closest we've been to the Yankees talent wise. This team has shown resiliancy all year. I'm a homer. Yes. I believe we can beat them. Yes As stated above and what happened in the 8th of the NL Wildcard game last night: We need to be clean in the field, limit hanging misplaced balls, and get a little RISPY. I guess this is the formula for any team, but applies directly to us. Go Twins
  10. Win tonight and a lot of pressure will be relieved. What's the saying "Momentum is the next day's starter"?
  11. SSS, i was at the game today and had seats behind the Twins dugout. Schoop and Cave both made real nice plays that I don't think I would have appreciated from TV. Lots of Twins fans for a small crowd, and fun fact: The players have to get a new skill set to toss balls to the crowd over the extended protective netting.
  12. This is not a knee jerk reaction. Perez needs to go to BP. We need to bring up a couple of young arms like Graterol or Alcala and get a sense for where they are and see what needs to be developed in the off season. I just don't believe we have what it takes with our entire pitching staff to get to October. Amd call me crazy, but even with the HR today, Stewart has looked good this year. Just not sure what role. Anyways, Go Twins
  13. To summarize the past few weeks that led up to a frenzied couple of hours today, Derek Falvey and Thad Levine showed poised perfection in how they handled talent acquisition. The big league club got substantially better. The farm system did not get any worse. Sustained winning is still a probable outcome and the team from Twins Territory is as dangerous as it’s ever been. As I said in a post yesterday. I'd rather be competitive 7/10 years than a strong post season push once a decade. The post season is such a craphshoot but I like the idea of having an open window for the next 5+ years. Just my opinion
  14. I appreciate all the writers for what they do but this article is a cluster**** There is no deadline pressure. One example Byron Buxton got the scoring going in the top of the third when Byron Buxton hit a towering flyball over the fence in left-centerfield to give the Twins an early one to nothing lead. Take a breath and do some self-editing. There is no hard deadline for this stuff. And I do appreciate what you guys do, but I've been noticing a lot of awful errors and I am not a Strunk and White Nazi
  15. quick side note. I was at game today but running late and as I walked up to the park I heard loud applause and thought crap its already the bottom of the first ( White sox Batting) got in to stadium and it was Twins 2-0 There were that many Twins fans applauding Cruz' HR. Very cool. Sat next to a woman wearing a Bomba Squad Tshirt. On the flip side, there were some obnoxious Twins fans out after the game. I guess my point is I love the fandom at Comiskey ( or whatever it's called now) where there used to be few twins fans at games to a healthy portion on a Saturday but let's be cool and applaud ourselves for supporting the team
  16. I think he's the team mvp He's not the best player on the team, but he's the most valuable for Baldelli having options filling out the lineup card and helping to keep this lineup dangerous 1-9
  17. I hope this isn't our highwater mark. Let's knock the snot out of Cleveland and Detroit and then set up post season matchups
  18. Good win. Marwin is team MVP. So many positions, so much extra rest for the core. I don't know how you quantify it, but i'm sure there's a metric somewhere that will be in our vernacular soon. Hate to bag on Gibson, but go strong when you have a 2 strike count. Too much off speed and corner pitches. Trust the defense...That's why it's there (and aligned and checking their back pockets for cheat sheets and looking at the third base coach to get positioned and knowing what side of the plate the ball is going to be delivered to and...I made myself throw up in my mouth. Sorry) GO TWINS!
  19. To everyone over the age of 15...Who cares. I giggle everytime I"m listening to 670 The Score in Chicago and they have a segment with Ron Coomer who is introduced as "American League All Star Ron Coomer" Meh. Let the guys get a couple days rest and let the real reward come with a deep post season run. The guys who are 'All Stars' know who they are.
