  1. Carl and his offspring adhere to the Fred Flintstone philosophy of BUSINESS "Your only friend's a buck and the more bucks you've got, the more friends you've got" Contrary to the belief that: "You've got to spend money to make money"
  2. IF Buxton is not traded. He will reign in his on field efforts to enable himself to stay uninjured through the season so he can "cash in" at the season's end. No highlights in 2022 of Buxton crashing into walls, diving to make catches: it's all about posturing for a big payoff.
  3. San Francisco helped us out once before when they wanted AJ. They need a CF, Taylor Roger's brother is there, and Longoria has a year left on his contract. What about Buxton, Rogers, Donaldson to SF for Longoria, a MLB OF that can play CF, and a handful of prospects? That should keep the cheap Pohlad family happy without Carl turning over in his grave ....
  4. What is the logic behind requiring that players on the 60 day IL be added back onto the roster at the conclusion of the season? Why is it then that the same players can then be moved off the roster and onto the 60 day IL at the beginning of the next season? With the recovery time associated with knee and arm injuries requiring surgery as well as the ability of information and documentation afforded by technology, there is no reason that surgically recovering players should not be able to remain on the 60 Day IL once placed on it, until such time that they are medically cleared to return.. Stashing is more difficult these days.
  5. Buxton Will Be Traded. Just a question of who is received in return and the trading partner. Should he still be with the team on opening day, don't expect that he will play with the same reckless abandon as has been the case. He will be protecting himself from injury so that he can get a big free agent contract. In addition, why kill yourself for a team that is going nowhere in 2022 ??
  6. By switching Rosario to RF and Kepler to LF, an advantage would be that each player's glove hand would be TOWARDS their respective field's foul line. Cleaner fielding opportunities to balls hit down the line as the players would not have to backhand them.
  7. If the Twins miss out on Dylan Bundy, What about possibly shoehorning on to the roster... AL BUNDY !!
  8. Twins can offer exensions to Buxton until they are blue in the face. It remains up to Buxton and his agent whether ANY of those extension offers are even considered, yet alone signed. In the end, being a part of a successful, winning, contending, big market, high profile organizations will win out over whatever the Twins offer. The Twins' organization needs to face up to the inevitable and plan on an existence WITHOUT Buxton. Time to figure out NOW whether to trade him, trade him for what, or issue him a QA and take the draft pick when the QA is declined. So then, who is in CF??
  9. Wait...... Look what else is coming.... OF = Larry, Moe & Curly OF Reserve = Shemp Catchers = Williams & Ree Starters = Abbott & Costello Starters = Burns & Allen Starters = Stiller & Meara Relievers = Laurel & Hardy Relievers = Cheech & Chong Relievers = Hudson & Landry Relievers = Homer & Jethro Infield = Chico, Harpo, Groucho & Zeppo IF Reserves = Penn & Teller Forget about seeing quality Major League baseball at Target Field in 2022 But, you will be ROTFL at what takes place on the field !!
  10. So Detroit has become the Tig-wins ?? Wilson Ramos Niko Goodrum Jonathan Schoop Akil Baddoo Robbie Grossman
  11. No further discussion of flipping Kepler to LF? Irrespective of arm strength and range, Seems like some consideration should be given to the defensive advantage of outfielders having their glove hand along the foul line.
  12. EASY. Be on the lookout for a team in need of a left hand hitting 4th outfielder who can play CF that has a right hand hitting 4th outfielder who can play CF. Make a deal.
  13. Crack the whip. Get the Feds involved. Player gets in to the USA on an expedited basis or No cushy job for the US consul. No foreign aid for that country.....
  14. Twins could save a small fortune on footwear repairs if they were to have their own..... SHOEMAKER !!
  15. GREAT STORY !! Oh, what might have been....
  16. In addition to being corner outfield insurance, also DH insurance.
  17. If they hadn't signed him, The Twins Off season Free Agency efforts, Coukd have been referred to as being........ HAPP Less !!
  18. Trades are exciting, interesting and worthy of lots of conversation. Signing an over-the-hill, 38 year old starter for 8 Million, not so much.
  19. The interest in Duvall is all about connections. Amazing talent in Adam's Family. Fester's pitching is electric. Gomez' bat is explosive. Pugsley is working hard at training.
  20. I do remember how saving a few bucks by dropping David Ortiz and replacing him with Matt LeCroy worked out.....
  21. Interestingly, the Chicago White Sox will be the only MLB team in 2021 that when the Manager goes to the mound to make a pitching change, It will be the Manager that uses a powered cart, instead of the Relief Pitcher that is entering the game !!
  22. Robbie Ray is off the market. Time to make another choice. Who is that/where does that Robnak guy in the rotation come from?
  23. Goodbye = Romo, Avila, Gonzalez, Hill, Come on Back = Clippard, Cruz If Price is Right = Adrianza, May, Odorizzi
  24. Hang this loss on: MANAGER BENCH COACH PITCHING COACH BULLPEN COACH Wrong guy (Mejia) at the wrong time. Got stale waiting to be used. What's Vasquez doing? Knitting a sweater?
  25. Another example how Lady Luck can overcome players that choke in the clutch and a manager who hasn't a clue. Inning #1 - Kepler on @B ZERO out. No sacrifice to move Kepler to 3B to score on a sac fly Polanco looks slow and strikes out looking on a Fastball that was inches away from the previous curve ball. Missed opportunity. Bailed out by Cruz and Rosario. Same inning Rosario on 2B, Two out. Gonzalez bounces a low and away Curve to 1B for the final out Inning #2 - Garver on 2B, ZERO Out. No sacrifice by Schoop. He pops out to 1B. Wasted at bat. Buxton picks up the slack and plates Garver With one out, both Kepler and Polanco choke and fly out. ATTN: MANAGER, BENCH COACH, HITTING COACH = 5 players saw a total of 9 pitches. What's up with that - in the second inning????? INNING #3 - ONE out, Gonzalez on 2B, Garver on 1B. Schoop chokes and grounds a low and away curve ball into an inning ending double play. Missed scoring opportunity. ATTN: MANAGER, BENCH COACH, HITTING COACH = 5 players saw a total of 10 pitches. Not including Garver who saw 5 pitches himself - and walked. What's up with that - in the third inning????? INNING #4 - Buxton on 1B ZERO out. NO sacrifice, no attempt to steal 2B Kepler chokes and grounds into a double play. The DP is followed by 2 singles, before Rosario pops out to SS n a low and away Fast ball. INNING #5 Garver on 2B, TWO OUT. A hit means a run and Schoop grounds out to 3B on the first pitch he sees, a slider inside. INNING #6 - Polanco on 2B via single and wild pitch. Two Out. Cruz whiffs on a low inside slider on his 9th pitch of the at bat. INNING #7 - Cron on 1B ZERO out. No sacrifice, runner is not advanced. Gonzalez flys to LF, Garver hits a DP to 2B. MISSED OPPORTUNITY. ATTN MANAGER, BENCH COACH, PITCHING COACH, BULLPEN COACH: Poor decision on bringing May in to face 1 batter in the 7th and then haul him out again to begin the 8th. Poor decision on bringing in Parker to start the 9th, since he worked on Saturday. FLAVINE => Get some arms Baldelli can trust, otherwise this is a repeat of Molitor's bullpen use.
