  1. That's Correct !! WHAT is on Second. As far as Third Base goes, I Don't Know !!
  2. If "THE PLAN" was to trade Willi, why did they choose to loose Helman for cash and not just delay the signing of Bader & Columbe UNTIL pitchers & catchers reported and roster space could be gained through the use of the DL ?? The Bader signing would indicate that Willi either is the starter at 2B and/or is the RH platoon OF with Bader against LHP.
  3. NO. But with Helman gone, Keaschall, not physically ready (and not on the 40, man roster), Julien having a questionable bat, Martin being questionable with both glove and bat, and Lee not yet proven as being ready. the second base job falls to Castro. Just based upon his paycheck, the team needs him in the lineup just about every day. Why else would there be rumors about the team having interest in a SS?? Either Correa isn't doing so well OR Castro is going to be used somewhere other than SS.
  4. The critical issues for the Twins for the 2025 season involve the construction and positions of 3/4 of the infield. Based on the available players, there is a ripple effect on who mans the positions and if moves outside the organization are necessary. That Stated: Who's on First? What's on Second? I Don't Know is on Third.
  5. What it points to is that the Twins start the year with Jeffers and Vasquez. Meanwhile Camargo, Cartaya and Gasper get at bats in the minors and the team patiently waits for one or more of them to be a pleasant surprise. Meanwhile, they use Vasquez in situations to maximize his value while patiently waiting for the inevitable substantial injury to another team's catcher. When the phone rings, the Twins answer.
  6. The relocation rumors I hear as being circulated are the Twins moving to Savannah, GA (The Hostess City) or Lenexa, KS (Home of Hostess Brands, Inc) which in either case, would result in the renaming of the team to the............................................................................................................ HOSTESS TWINKIES !!
  7. Twins will listen to ANY TEAM that calls on Paddack & Lopez, and although the return for Lopez should include an MLB ready starter, when Paddack goes, a rotation spot opens up and having a LHP in the rotation would be a Plus. Perhaps use Hart in conjunction with a 1-2 inning opener that throws heat to then make way for a soft tossing LHP. Can we check to see if Flavey is a member of this site and if he is not gift him with the Premium Access. I'd chip in.
  8. Due to the Twins' budget restrictions the team was unable to afford to sign a Lincoln or Mercury so they settled for a FORD !!
  9. Twins Front Office/Ownership Brain trust have offers out to: Rick Vaughn, Pedro Cerrano, Jake Taylor, Roger Dorn, Willie Mays Hayes and Eddie Harris to fill the current voids on the team while continuing to operate on a shoestring budget.
  10. SF "OWES" the Twins for a couple trade fleecings that victimized the team and should cut us a deal.
  11. Twin's Front Office is waiting to hear back from MLB and MLBPA on paying players LESS than the league minimum due to the team's precarious financial condition. This will impact roster decisions.
  12. "Barney, You're in the business army now; your only friend's a buck and the more bucks you've got, the more friends you've got", Fred Flintstone to Barney Rubble after Fred got Barney a job that he announced he was quitting because unbeknownst to Fred, Barney's first task was to repossess Fred's TV set. I believe every Pohlad child is given a baby blanket which they keep for the entireity of their lives with this above quote on it. And they live by it.
  13. What everyone - especially Twins front office seems to forget is that player trades CAN involve more than just TWO teams. Adding a third or fourth team to the deal and involving the movement of additional players may just be what it takes to get a deal done while adding to the possibility of getting who/what you want at a cost you are willing to pay.
  14. It's a Catch 22. Can't run without players that can do it. Pohlads are selling the team for a big profit. The buyer will need to generate a profit to begin to recoup their investment which means a cheap payroll. Cheap payroll means ZERO big bucks free agents, replacing departing free agents with minimal cost players AND exploring trade opportunities for: Buxton, Correa, Paddack, Vasquez, Lopez, Castro, etc. Remember the Pohlad family business motto = In business, your only friend is a BUCK and the more BUCKS you've got, the more friends you've got. This philosophy based on the past dealings of the family, and as expressed by the immortal Fred Flintstone.
  15. Twins ownership/management are in search of a deal where the new hitting coach PAYS THE TEAM, not the other way around.
  16. Sorry, I cannot support either Rocco or his staff after the team folded down the stretch and blew their opportunity for post season play. And did so after getting both Buxton & Correa back in the lineup at the same time. Just not good enough in situational hitting and did not score enough runs. GOODBYE = Kepler, Farmer, Margot, Thielbar, Paddack, Vasquez, DeSclafani, Kirilloff, Julien, Santana, etc.
  17. Does anyone know if AD will Actually pitch in 2024? Maybe he'll just be on the DL all season long.
  18. Looking ahead = Those big 4 players mentioned could ALL end up being traded with the roster flexing as a result of what players are received in return. Polanco, Farmer, Kepler, Vasquez (in that order) are either gone by opening day or by the trade deadline. In order to make those moves, another one or two teams may have to be involved in trades. The way to get to that point is to target the player(s) you want and work backwards from there to find a way to get that done. But then again the Team has people they PAY to construct a roster.
  19. Sounds like a prime opportunity for a three or four team trade in which everybody gets what they want/need.
  20. With 2 ACL surgeries on his resume, it is both foolhardy and irresponsible to have Lewis stealing bases.
  21. Very dicey to consider trading Farmer. Unless the brain wizards are comfortable with either Gordon or Castro as the backup at SS. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the plantar fasciitis that plagued Correa in 2023 won't be chronic or return in 2024. Same consideration with Buxton and his knee. Got to have a plan B for that too.
  22. The Pohlad Family Tree is filled with birds that can only call: CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP !!
