  1. He could be Minnesota's own "Wild Thing" !!
  2. So much for using that 40 man roster vacancy for the recently DFA'd Mickey Gasper !!
  3. Aren't the humor pieces supposed to start out by informing the reader that the story is humor? And aren't the "funny" stories done by a different author ??
  4. Would be interesting to know who wanted a full rebuild (Derek?) and who wanted to continue the POHLAD path of APPEARING to be in contention (Tom?) for sure. Could be that by the 2026 trade deadline, the Twinkies will be so far out of it that Tom gives the order to Zoll to undertake the full rebuild. Perhaps that is the TOM plan all along - once the MONEY for season ticket sales and renewals are in the Pohlad Treasure Chest to strip the team down to the bare walls at the 2026 trade deadline for the balance of 2026 and for 2027 when a lockout may take place. Better to only have a minimal payroll in the event of a work stoppage, then come back as optimistic heroes for 2028. Meddling by Tom would help to explain the haphazard roster building in the offseason by Flavey that has taken place since Joe got booted out. A PLAN wasn't at all clear. I still believe that the 2025 mid-season sell off took place to have the dumping of Correa be of ZERO cash impact on the P & L. That is the way it worked out. After the disposal of high marquee players is taken off the table due to the negative fan impact, the next option to trim away the 30MM cost of dumping Correa, was to deal away from the strength of the bullpen. Back at that time, the goal of the organization was to make a buck, or. at least not to lose 30MM on a guy who doesn't even play for you anymore. Even though Joe was "in charge" at that time, it is logical to conclude that older brother Tom was influencing Joe's decisions by exerting some level of string pulling on "little brother" back then, and, perhaps all along. You know how big brothers can be.
  5. The Giants ARE NOT trading away Eldridge for Ryan or ANYBODY ELSE.
  6. Because they are GUTLESS. The Twinkies' ownership and management know that the ACTUAL FANS of the game of baseball would understand a complete reboot, the Corporate types that purchase season tickets and suites would not accept being seen at games featuring: AAAA players, never was players and yet to establish themselves players.
  7. You left out Jeffers. He's a Free Agent AFTER this season. Boras is his agent. Boras will not allow Jeffers to sign an extension and a free agent contract will be beyond the Twins' budget. Unless there is a qualifying offer extended, after 2026, Jeffers' leaves and the Twinkies get ZIP. Unless he is traded.
  8. Why Gasper instead of Julian? Doesn't Gasper have options? And defensive positions.
  9. Vegas is accounted for, that's where Oakland is moving. Just waiting for the stadium to be built.
  10. But he is blocking players, the way in which the roster is currently constructed. Bell is either 1B or DH. Clemens WAS to be the primary 1B. When Bell plays 1B, who is the DH? Clemens?? Or is Clemens to become the back up 1B, 2B, 3B??Last year because of his negative fielding, Larnach was shielded from playing in the field by making him the day in day out DH. Now that they have got BELL = They are putting Larnach back in the OF?? When Bell is the DH, what becomes of Larnach = LF. If Larnach is in LF and Buxton and Wallner finish out the OF: what becomes of Martin? Does Martin then lose his LF job and revert to being back up at LF, RF, CF, 2B ?? What Becomes of Roden? Where is there room for Rodriguez, Gonzales, Outman (why is the latter still on the 40 man roster anyway ?). Considering the stated intention to run the bases like what took place down the stretch in 2025, adding a SLOW running, bad defensive player, at a position staffed by a 2025 holdover makes no sense. Whatever "the plan" is not about building a team for long term success; it's about trying to make the corporate owned season ticket holders happy so they can brag about a Josh Bell longball the next day at work and recount the number of beers they drank and the number of hot dogs they ate. Because in reality most shelling out for season tickets just want to brag about going to the game. Most don't even know the players on the opposing team, let alone the players on the home team.
  11. The listing of "talent" just emphasizes the need for a long term developmental player for 1B for this organization.
  12. Just ONE from the "LOADED" 40 man roster released?? In a pinch, easily a half dozen more openings on the 40 man roster could be made by DFA those certain players. Doubtful, any would be claimed and if they were = NO BIG LOSS. By the end of the 2026 season, just how many of these place keepers will remain on the 40?
  13. Because they needed to offset the 10 Million the team is eating this year to dump Correa by subtracting the players who would get raises through arbitration.
  14. To all of you advocating a Jeffers extension, his agent is Scott Boras. Use your heads!! Boras does not advocate extensions for players heading to free agency. When he reaches free agency, Jeffers won't come cheap. And CHEAP is the direction this organization is heading - even more so than in the past The only way to receive ANY value from Jeffers is to trade him BEFORE he becomes a free agent and NOTHING is received.
