  1. Exactly. That's my point. I highly doubt the Twins think he is a .240 or below hitter if they are shelling out that type of money
  2. I'm looking at 3 years of data. He is probably equivalent to a 30th round pick
  3. I think we know quite a bit now. He is struggling at the plate against high school kids. Is spending a lot of time at DH early on. And admitted he simply sat on fastballs this last year in college. Wasted pick
  4. How do you pay 3M for a guy with questions on his bat? Any info on the other OF they signed?
  5. He sat on fastballs all year. He even admitted to it. He is a one trick pony and will be exposed at higher levels. That's the real reason why he's starting in rookie league
  6. Wow I get the feeling management must have thought that this kid was a must take and didn't want to risk him falling to 3. They probably figured at least 1 top prospect would fall due to their price tag. Sounds like a great pick
  7. That's how I understand it, unless the rules have changed
  8. You can go over 5% for first 10 rounds. In rounds 11-40 you have a cap of $100K per player. If anyone goes over the $100k than that incremental amount goes towards the first 10 rounds money and the 5%
  9. Imagine we will save some with Leach and use it on our 11 pick
  10. So basically Akil is a guy that looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane
  11. Looks fun. I'll try mine: 1. Gordon 2. Lewis 3. Romero 4. Gonsalves 5. Granite 6. Diaz 7. Kiriloff 8. Javier 9. Rooker 10. vielma 11. Enlow 12. Jorge 13. Blackenhorn 14. Palacios 15. Palka 16. Jay 17. Thorpe 18. Graver 19. Leach 20. Graterol 21. Whitefield 22. Rotrvoedt(sp?) 23. Stewart 24. Curtis 25. Reed
  12. Not much difference between a guy who hasn't signed but will and a guy who has signed but hasn't played yet. Also, have you seen what Granite is doing in AAA??
  13. Hmm maybe they don't like Javier as much as we would hope
  14. Bob have you seen Javier down there? How's he looking? The skeptic in me says the Lewis pick indicates that the front office isn't as big on Javier than the fans at this point
  15. Looks like Luke heimlich is going undrafted. Not surprised
  16. Sounds like he has pitched against Astros instructional league professional hitters. Mixed success but nice to see the strikeouts at that level and some shutout innings. http://timsmith44.wixsite.com/cadesmith23/single-post/2016/10/18/Florida-and-Whats-Next
  17. I give them a C-. There's a couple picks I like but it doesn't seem like they spread the risk of quantity or quality. Tough to think this draft will be average
  18. Sounds like we got more savings. Good lord what a draft.
  19. Utility guy in the 5th round? There's still high upside guys. So they went underslot again?!
  20. Don't have to be specific or name the person but can you elaborate as to why? Character concerns? Health? Talent?
  21. With all the money we're saving we're going to have the best rounds 11-40 ever. They are all going to be able to make it to AA. Great organizational depth
