    That's pretty ominous considering it's not even opening day. Animosity and distrust can't be good for team chemistry. I can see how demoting the team's best hitter this spring has the other players pessimistic about how things will go the rest of the season.

    Hmmm, hope Molitor doesn't need a pinch hitter anytime soon.

    I'll also be in the minority and not be upset about one more chance for Tonkin. But Molitor HAS to go along with new ideas. The role a guy plays simply cannot be based on his experience but instead on his skill set. Just because a guy is a veteran doesn't mean he has the ability to work high leverage situations. If you can't miss bats you shouldn't be called into the game with a runner on 3rd and one out. Tonkin had issues last year, still, if you absolutely needed a strikeout he was pretty much the only one in the pen who had that ability. Sometimes that means he has to pitch in a tight spot, it's just how the game works.

    Perfect, let the Reds season him up with some MLB experience before the Twins kindly refuse their overtures to retain him for a PTBNL in a month or so.

    I would pause it but then after about 30 seconds it would un-pause. After that it wouldn't stay paused for any length of time. And I couldn't rewind it, it would start to go through the motions but then quickly return to what was playing live. Maybe it does have something to do with the trial version.

    I can try hooking it up the Playstation but it's about 20 years old. Are there newer models?

    Forget about the speculation and drama from those too far removed from the situation. We're always glad to have informed voices for our favorite minor league teams. Any news or information you would like to share here is not only welcome but much appreciated. Thanks for the post and I truly hope to see more!

    Right, had his take simply been: 'The Twins are going to be real bad this year' we'd all be in agreement that this guy knows his stuff.

    We decided to give Vue a shot along with a Roku. Vue was nice but we couldn't pause live shows and you couldn't pick up and start a live show ten minutes in, you either had to miss the first ten minutes or wait until the next day to watch it. If there is a work around for that, let me know. Anyway we said we'd do it anyway and called to cancel DirectTV but they offered to lower their price to match VUE so we stayed.

    So Sony gets Marvel to get Spiderman back on track and is now talking about yanking him from the MCU universe: http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/03/29/spider-man-leave-marvel-cinematic-universe-sony/ Probably not the best time for them to drop that bomb considering they are ramping up to promote this new movie; I'd be less inclined to invest in Spiderman if he isn't going to be in the MCU for long. Or it could be an idle threat to try to force some concessions out of Marvel/Disney.

    I don't know about Slowey's quotes; all I can find anymore are Souhan's which if he had posted them here would have gotten him a week's vacation from posting. Souhan was so far over the line with his comments and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a moment he would like back. It was very distasteful.

    While my disagreement with that is debatable, the right answer for the Twins was probably not to leak to the media that Slowey was a cancer and was faking an injury to avoid pitching in the pen. Even if both things happened to be accurate.

    Seems to me that when Gardenhire infamously demoted Slowey to the pen in favor of the ineffective but expensive Nick Blackburn we heard all kinds of leaks about how he was petulant and a malcontent. That doesn't sound like a guy who would be hired by the MLBPA to stick up for other players. I'd think the guys that they hire tend to be the players who are vocal and stand up for themselves and others when they don't think management is doing the right thing by them. Hmmmm...

    The Twins could really use a dominant non-LOOGY who can get any kind of batter out. It would be really nice if Mason Melotakis stepped up. Or Jay I guess now.

    Park or Vargas? No. Park and Vargas? Yes. That batters box just doesn't have enough elbow room for two men that size.

    If I go to Vegas, the last thing I'd do is go to a football game. Unless the Vikings are in town. They're going to need a LOT of traveling visiting fans I'd think.

    The only way I can see this work is if the NFL is counting on a large influx of fans of the visiting team who are going to see their favorite team on the road as an excuse to go to Vegas. If that's the case, Davis better never complain about how the locals don't support the team when the Cowboys and Steelers fans outnumber their own fans 2-1. Unless they line the concourse with slot machines, I don't see how this is going to work.

    I remember back in the day when the Twins traded for Shannon Stewart and Luis Castillo. The Twins didn't just acquire them because of the position they played, but because they filled a specific need in the lineup. It doesn't seem like the Twins have done much of that lately.

    No surprises?! I'm stunned the Twins are 26th in starting pitching, I thought they'd be 31. Behind the other 29 MLB clubs and the Dodgers AAA club.

    Or at minimum the last five minutes of episode 2. Easily the best fight scene in the history of TV (though it borrowed it's concept from the movie Old Boy). I had to watch it three times, the first two out of awe, the third looking to prove that there weren't any camera tricks. There weren't.

    I've watched the other Marvel Netflix shows but the 2nd half of Luke Cage really started turning me off. From all the bad pub I've heard about Iron Fist, I fear if I watch it I'll be out for good. I might skip this one and wait for The Defenders and The Punisher. Since The Defenders was planned before Iron Fist, I wonder if they just made a slap dash attempt to get Iron Fist established for the big team-up and had less time, resources and/or care to make a better product. But again, I haven't seen it so just speculating on where it's troubles stem from.

    It's a good and reassuring read even if it's light on specifics. Last off season I said I'd give the new front office a year to evaluate what they had in their coaches, front office staff and players before I'd get too concerned that they were keeping too many holdovers. This spring I've been less patient as I wanted the young guys to play and had/have no interest in watching journeymen vets with low upside on the team. If Falvey really thinks he can identify which players in the system can be salvaged and fixed, I'll give him a year to prove it even if the players end up being fixed in Chattanooga and Rochester.
