  1. Yeah, I can do five, and then there's at least four more that I can easily see me getting excited about between now and the draft. Even if they re-sign Cousins or Dobbs, Hall comes back and looks great or they do something silly like trade for Murray, I still want them grabbing one of these guys; this is a really deep class and odds are that more than one team will hit the jackpot.
  2. Only if you think there are only two QBs in the draft who could turn out to be elite.
  3. I don’t want to wait two years before they start building for a Super Bowl.
  4. So how the hell were they able to quickly get to the line and run plays that last drive? Usually they blow five seconds a play while we see Cousins covering his ear holes looking frustrated. I’m not blaming Kirk, but whatever they were doing with Dobbs was different.
  5. Kirk’s going to be 36 next year. Except for a couple of modern all time great HOFers, you don’t want to commit 36-year-old QBs to multi year deals.
  6. Incredible. They were too conservative with the run early but kudos to KOC. No way Dobbs had all that down, KOC or the OC had to have been describing plays to him on the fly. And zero delay if game penalties today somehow.
  7. Why didn’t they take a he penalty On the kickoff?? Koo was never going to miss.
  8. I want to see the 62 yard FG.
  9. Got to catch that ball. whoever the hell that guy was.
  10. I still want to live in the penthouse.
  11. Dont even try for a 15 yard completion?!?! They had two shots at it!
  12. And who will call his own plays and ignore the coaches if they can’t get a play in.
  13. Wow. That’s what I want. A Kirk Cousins who can run for a 1st down..
  14. Akers to lead RB, Mattison to WR 3. Find a silver lining to this situation. Mattison just can’t run the ball anymore.
  15. Wow. Who had this meaningless game pegged as so utterly devastating? Hope KJ is OK.
  16. Still have to throw. You’ll go 3 and out running it all game long. They can either cowardly try to lose by less than ten points, or they can at least try to score and risk losing by 30. It’s almost certainly a loss either way, but don’t concede now just to save face.
  17. Why are the blitzing less than normal? I don’t think they’ve blitzed on 3rd down yet.
  18. They’re going to stuff the box all game long. They won’t be able to run it with Barry Sanders in his prime.
  19. As scary as throwing sounds, they simply cannot and should not run the ball.
  20. He was on track to be a literal rocket scientist, so may a new NFL playbook is easy for him to digest.
  21. Just can’t hand it off to Mattison.
  22. Hmmmm, reconsidering initial criticism.
  23. You can tell this is going to be a long game based on the first play. Defense knows you’re starting an untested rookie QB and will assume it would be a cowardly run up the middle. If you actually TRUST the rookie QB, you throw a pass over the middle to the TE if only to make the defense question their game plan.
  24. I don’t want Dobbs or Hall either (obviously barring a fabulous dream ascension), as good as Cousins has been, I’ve been asking for an even higher, elite caliber QB the whole time he’s been here. I just have a feeling we’re going to see a Case Keemun situation, and there were plenty of fans who thought the Vikings should stick to that path instead of signing Cousins. That year was a great case study though because this draft is gearing up to look similar. Lamar Jackson was a presumptive top pick at the beginning of the college season, than Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen and Allen grabbed the attention making Jackson old news pushing him to the bottom of the first round; the Vikings could have had him. There looks to be a lot of QBs in this draft that look NFL-promising.
  25. Still, there's a difference between spending 40% less than what you bring in and spending 70% less than what you bring in. That stratification creates a competitive disadvantage. And honestly, spending 10% less than what you bring in is a reasonable if not generous model in many industries, pro sports owners have just collectively decided that they want more. Much more.
