  1. The same people will snark about the Twins being idiots for letting Blackburn go if he pitches well elsewhere. I already have a rough draft started, blasting the Twins for the way they handled Blackburn. I plan to publish it on this site next May or June when he is 5-2 with an ERA around 3.5 for some national league team.
  2. They should perform the same procedure that was performed on that kid in the movie "Rookie of the Year"
  3. Bummer...on another note, Klaw just tweeted this...
  4. Would he be subject to the international bonus cap?
  5. I'd say Slama is easily a top 50 Twins' minor leaguer, just not really a prospect anymore. Thats not meant to be a diss...
  6. I think that anyone who follows baseball closely(everyone on this site) is fully aware of this.
  7. That same site has Kyle Gibson at 16, Max Kepler at 18 and Adrien Salcedo at 7. Its as if thier not even trying. To get back to your original question, yes, Morales has fallen that far. He had one decent offensive season and that was in the hitter friendly Appalachian league. Since then he has been a strikeout machine who has hit for little power.
  8. I don't see any way the Twins trade away significant assets for anything other than pitching.
  9. I totally get what you're saying Curt. I think the only spot in TF that is reallly difficult to homer is RC. It has a high wall and it is deep. The rest of the park seems pretty neutral to me.
  10. I think Tonkin has a shot. Then Herrmann, who is not longer playing in the AFL, could see some more time.
  11. Unless Terry Ryan has incriminating pictures of the Pirates' GM, we are not getting either of those guys....much less both.
  12. I hope this isn't a move that comes back to bite us. I mean it probably won't but Gutierrez has some pretty good stuff from what I've heard and he just hasn't been able to put it all together. Injuries haven't helped either.
  13. Herrmann hurt his shoulder. Replaced by Dan Rohlfing.
  14. Did you really just suggest it would take Sano Rosario and Span to get Andrus?
  15. I seen (on gameday) one fastball regisered at 95. Otherwise mostly 93-94. Slider at 86-87.
  16. Also, there were 10 more rounds in 2011
  17. OK so now we know the kid is opting for the MLB. So things brings a couple questions... I'm assuming most teams have spent most or all of thier $2.9 million allotment for international players. So will he wait until July next year when teams allotments get reset? Also, as I understand it, starting next year every team's bonus allotment will vary from team to team. I suppose the Twins will get the 4th highest amount to spend as they had the 4th worst record this year. Anyone know when the dollar amounts will be announced if they haven't already? The Twins are one of several teams that have scouted Otani.
  18. How about Michael Tonkin? With his recent success, his age and the him being a pen guy, he should be on the fast track assuming he continues to pitch well. He should start out in New Britain and could earn a promotion to AAA by June or sooner. I think he has a real chance of making the big club by August.
  19. Keith Law mentions Gibson in his latest blog. Good stuff, insiders only of course:(
  20. I would love to see an example of this. It would be even better if you had some evidence to support it.
  21. Glad you like the site Puck. A lot of good baseball minds here but it could always use one more:cool:
  22. LOL, did you comment by any chance. I just did, pointed out Girardi's hypocrisy:p
  23. Honest question...how involved is the minor league director with drafting? He's not really a scout anymore right? So does he even have any input on drafts and international signings?
  24. Especially considering our minor league pitcher of the year has a ceiling of a #5 starter.
