  1. It should be noted that I voted no because I feel like I have been very civil in my time on this site and feel no need to be any more civil going forward. I am surprise by how many people voted yes. Shame on all of them for not being civil enough to this point.
  2. Hey look, its the bi-monthly "lets stop being mean" thread:whacky028:
  3. "This aint you father's Twins system", KLAW says. By this he explains, the system is no longer relying so heavily on college control pitchers with a 45 grade fastball. He is still a bit skeptical about Berrios' potential to be the frontline starter that many of us hope he could be. Noting his "lack or plane" among other minor things. But he is not ignoring the outstanding pro debut he had last year. He really likes Kepler and has high hopes for him to be an above average defender in the outfield who can hit for power in the majors.
  4. I challenge anyone to watch that video and NOT smile.
  5. A lot of stuff that we already know. Really good defender with and 80 arm. Better from the right side but has improved enough from the left side to stay as a swich hitter. I'll share the last little paragraph about him...
  6. Some might. But then again some use the term "ace" more loosely than others
  7. I'm guessing the biggest suprise for most people will be Gibson ahead of Meyer. KLAW notes that some in the industry think he may be a bullpen candidate down the road. But with the Twins lack of quality starters, he will stay in the rotation until he proves he can't handle it.
  8. Keith Law has released his top 100 prospects list and, as expected, 7 Twins made the list. The best part, they all ranked in the top 65! #11: Miguel Sano #22: Byron Buxton #41: Kyle Gibson #49: Aaron Hicks #59: Oswaldo Arcia #61: Alex Meyer #65: Eddie Rosario Some pretty good reads on these players too for those that have insider.
  9. A couple weeks ago someone asked him on Klawchat if there was a rational argument for putting Buxton ahead of Sano. His response was So I think its safe to conclude that Sano will be higher on the list. My guess is Sano, Buxton, Meyer, Arcia, Rosario, Gibson, Hicks
  10. No, not even a minor league deal. This would be a low risk, no reward deal. Again, not interested
  11. Seth, would Sano and Kepler be rule 5 eligable after this season if not put on 40 man? Or would it be next season?
  12. I loved this KLAW qoute about Arcia after the future's game.
  13. Everybody wants to talk about them being short on arms. What about middle infield? That is this teams biggest weekness if you ask me.
  14. I know you're joking. But be careful, there are some Twins fans that will actually believe this.
  15. Johnny is right. With the recent trade aquisitions, middle infield is the biggest weekness on htis team. They have Rosario for 2nd base but his defense is still a bit raw yet and he is still a couple years away anyway. We have a couple other low ceiling guys like Danny Santana and Levi Michael. Michael needs to show something this year. It seems that going after Diaz is almost too logical. A couple days ago Doogie tweeted that one of his sources said the Twins were concerned about some of the projected dollar amounts that he may be offered. If the Twins aren't willing to make a competetive offer than they don't care or they are clueless IMO.
  16. Johnson was a big reason the Twins drafted Adam Johnson In 2000:shoot: But seriously you are right. Too often people are giving too much credit or blame to GMs for the success or failure of drafts. The GM his little or no input on the draft.
  17. I think Keith Law will have 7 on his list. The 6 that were on Mayo's list plus Rosario. I don't think there's any chance Berrios makes it. KLAW likes Kepler and has high hopes for him because a good ML career form Max could possibly help the sport grow in Germany. But he won't make the list either just yet. I suppose May has an outside shot.
  18. Is this an attempt to give Ryan credit for the improvement of our farm system? If so, you might want to take a look at who was in charge when a lot of our top prospects were aquired.
  19. They did release 51-100. Arcia is 93 and Hicks is 98. Rosario, May and Berrios do not make the list. I'm surpised Rosario doesn't make it. A little surprised about May. Berrios' not really, but his stock could skyrocked with a big 2013.
  20. 50-100 have not been announced yet. That will be on mlb.com. But you are right that Sano and Buxton will probably be the only 2 left in the top 50. But still, 4 in the top 50 is pretty good.
  21. One person on Twitter not happy about Gibson being ranked that high:cry: Also Mayo just said that Buxton may have the most upside of any prospect.
  22. Alex Myer at 40. I am really excited about him.
  23. 1st name seen Kyle Gibson at 49. Thats higher than I expected him to be.
  24. That site has a lot of last years picks pretty high. Not saying thier wrong but most sites will not have Carols Correa at 8 or Buxton at 13. I also notice they have Kyle Zimmer ahead of Jameson Taillon. Definitely odd that he doesn't include Rosario or May on his list. Not even as honerable mentions:confused:
