    After seeing the picture of a happy Pat Neshek and his wife along with a seemingly healthy baby, and then hearing the baby passed unexpectadly makes me want to cry. It sucks how unfair life can be. So sorry for Pat and his family.

    Hey JC, are you in that area where you don't get the Twins on cable, but you would also get Twins' games blacked out on the mlb.tv package? I know there was a poster on another message board that had this issue. Total BS... Edit: I just read the link you posted in the article so my question had been answered.

    I apologize! No you don't. You aren't sorry at all! Then again, neither am I. In fact, if the Twins don't get better pretty damn soon, I'll probably be more interested in their minor leaguers than I will the Big Leaguers for quite a while. Thats one of the by products of having a really bad ML team, more and more people start following the minors.

    When I played legion ball 11 years ago, we played in a tournament out in Dyersville. If I remember correctly it was a pretty rural area. We visited Field of Dreams and had to take a dirt road to get there. So, I can't help but wonder, who is gonna use all these fields? The idea seems pretty cool, but 25 fields...thats an awful lot.

    Yeah things really got thin after 2007. Garza, Perkins and Slowey all graduated I think and Parmelee underperformed thus fell off. BTW, thanks Seth for sharing this. Always interesting to see prospect lists from years ago. It shows how unpredictable prospects can be. However thats the fun of following them. Lets assume the consensus top 5 in no particular order is Sano, Rosario, Buxton, Arcia and Hicks. If I was to travel 6 or 7 years into the future, and find out that 2 of these guys turned out to be productive/above average big league players, should I call that a success?

    7 innings. You are aware of how dominant he has been in AAA, right? Real scouts know that seeing-eye scouting and statistics should line up. Statistics are fairly objective, by the way. What some scout sees is subjective. You are aware of this difference, right? Nope, if Twins' scouts say he can't get it done, then he can't. Don't you know they've never been wrong?

    When exactly did he get his chance? Are you talking about the 7 ML innings he has logged between '10 and '11? I guess sample size means nothing to you.

    this sounds like a promise. If Slama is not at least invited in 2013 ST, Ryan lied. (of course if Ryan is still the GM) We shall see. Ryan already lied once when he said September call ups would be people that EARNED it. No reason to believe him this time

    It all goes back to what Ryan said about calling up players that "earned" it based on waht they did in AAA and AA. I wish Shipley would have asked him how Escobar "earned" it but Slama didn't. But reporters around here don't like pressing for more answers so...

    The most pressing need, that would be an overstatement but I get what you're saying.Just because he is 28 does not mean he has no value and no future. I have no clue how he might do in the bigs but this is the best time to find out. I will share this Terry Ryan quote one more time just in case you missed it... So let me ask, how did Eduardo Escobar "earn" a promotion but Slama didn't

    You just don't get it do you? Nobody is predicted he will be the next Dennis Eckersley. And those players you mentioned, never dominated on the leval that Slama has. All people are saying is he deserves a real chance. He deserved a chance earlier in the year, he deserved a chance after he came back from injury, and he deserves a chance now. So again, who cares what you or anybody else thinks his "upside" could be, the numbers he has put up year after year can not be ignored.

    Here is a direct qoute form TR about September call ups. This is from an article by Rhett Bolinger published August 27... I had a feeling Ryan was flat out lying when he said this. Now I KNOW he was lying. Unless someone can explain to me how Eduardo Escobar has earned a call up and Anthony Slama and Oswaldo Arcia haven't. I just cannot stand TR anymore!

    I was a little surprised that Slama was not picked up in the rule 5 draft last year. I hope he gets picked this year so he can get the chance he deserves. I would have liked to see Hicks and/or Arcia but I'm not overly upset about that decision.

    Sano sitting on 99 RBI's. I hope he gets a chance at 100 but of course his health is more important. Rosario with 32 doubles, makes me wonder how many he would have if he hadn't missed all that time in June and July.

    I suppose wind chill isnt really a factor on the Shackleton Crator. That probably helps a little bit.
