    If we're talking about ceiling alone I guess he would still be behing Sano, Buxton, Hicks and Rosario. But then you factor in his floor, his expected call up time and likelyhood of reaching his potential, I have to put Arcia at the top of the prospects list right now.

    Its sad but its true. If Vargas happens to turn into a big time major leaguer, you will have people accusing him of cheating because he once tested positive for a banned substance when he was playing rookie ball. Those same people won't even bother to look at what exactly he tested positive for.

    They would wait until the AA season is over so its not like he would be losing playing time by sitting on the bench with the Twins.

    There is no way they will go over to the point where they lose next year's pick. Appel is not worth that much. Also, if they don't sign him, they would get the #9 pick next year along with their other 1st round pick that will be determined at the end of the regular season.

    Yep, If I were a big time draft prospect I don't even think I would hire an agent (by that I mean listen to an advisor). In fact I would probably just wait until I made my big league debut before I started looking into agents.

    I haven't seen one respected writer suggest that next years class looks stronger, so that may be the only thing Appel has going for him. Even if the draft class in the same or even weeker than this year, its still a stupid risk for Appel.

    The option will be declined for sure. i predict they will offer him a 1 year deal with a base around $800K with insentives that could push it as high as $3 or 4 million.

    In that case you should credit the ETwins' pitching staff for only allowing 5 HR's so far. The 1.85 team ERA is pretty good too
