  1. I would not be happy at all if the Twins took Buxton. Thats not meant to be a knock, just that we need pitching way more than another toolsy outfielder. It should be Appel or Zimmer. Even Gausman could be considered. Here is the link James, but you have to be an insider... http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7794760/2012-mlb-draft-byron-buxton-mike-zunino-top-50-2012-draft-prospects
  2. No chance it would be Ulger. Personally, I would say Bruno is the only in house candidate that should be considered. It doesn't sound like Moliter would be interested and I would pray that they don't consider Carew.
  3. I like that Hicks hit a HR from the left side of the plate today. I heard from someone that went to the Snappers opening day that Madision Boer was almost all fastballs. I wonder if the cold weather had anything to do with that. Gonna be in the upper 40's/lower 50's by 1st pitch in Geneva, IL tomorrow, so we'll see if he throws many breaking balls. Good think for Oswaldo Arcia tonight...a triple and a double. Bad thing...3 strike outs.
  4. It could be worse...you could be a Cubs fan. Try telling one of them to be patient.
  5. Sano's SLG% is no longer 4X his batting average...he just hit a single.
  6. Bingo!....
  7. Yeah we also need to give Casilla a chance to prove himself. He's only had what...5 seasons worth of chances?
  8. What do you mean he's not ready. He's 24 years old. He had played major college ball for a few years and has been in the minors since. "Learn his craft" just sounds like another lousy cliche to me. Really, what does a player of his age and experience need to learn. His fielding his fine, his hitting is solid he doesn't strike out much. He was ready during spring training and he's ready now. "learn his craft"...what a joke!
  9. Let me guess...you think Vavra will turn him into a slap hitting, opposite field singles hitter. I alway laugh when I read stuff like this.
  10. The HR's from Sano are great. Nice to see him take a couple walks though too. I see Eddie Rosario is turning into quite a base stealer. I'm looking forward to what Matt Summers can do tomorrow as a starter.
  11. I will post the same thing I posted on another message board that I frequent... Its widely expected that Dozier will come up at some point in the season. I want him up NOW! Or at least in the next couple weeks. I am a patient Twins fan. I usually don't endorse kneejerk reactions to poor play. But, would it really be a kneejerk reaction to get rid of Casilla? I don't think so. If it were up to me Casilla would be dropped like a bad habit. Dozier is ready. Not just because he is 9-19 with a HR and 3 doubles in AAA, he was solid in Spring training. He has a sure glove and and can get the bat on the ball and even provide occasional pop. All of which he can do better than both Carrol and Casilla. I want Dozier as the everyday SS. Carrol can share 2B with Luke Hughes. So what are you waiting for Terry Ryan? After all these years is there any reason to believe that Casilla will ever be the hitter you once hoped he would be?
  12. I beleive Shibuya is next in line to start for Beloit. I wonder when Corey Williams will get some action.

  14. Thats a lot of pitchers
  15. He's a reliever! Haven't we learned by now that you don't trade productive postition players for releivers...EVER! And yeah I took note of the money that would be saved.
  16. Pretty cool site so far. You guys(moderators) might want to do something about these spammers though. I just clicked on blogs only to see the 1st 14 blogs were all spam. Perhaps you guys might want to make it so new subscribers to the site have to wait 24 hours or more to create thier 1st blog or forum post. Just a thought.
  17. I'm sure Waldrop gets that last bullpen spot. Manship and Burnett have pitched themselves OUT of the discussion. Fein has been impressive but they have to let him pitch a against better hitters. I like what I read about Parmelee. I'm sure Revere IS a lock. I'm okay with that. Its interesting Dozier isn't even mentioned so I guess that means his fate is sealed. I wonder if Butera has played his last ML game.
  18. The same could be said for 3rd base with Harrison and Sano. Also what if Valencia puts up really good numbers over the next few years? All the Twins can do is roll with what they got. Most likely not all these prospects will pan out. You make the necessary adjustments such as trades or position changes if a guy is ready to be called up but is blocked by another.
  19. The Twins may not be sure if they want Michael to be at SS or 2b. Fort Myers likely allows them to have him play both. Rosario will be holding down 2b in Beloit. That would be my theory...
  20. This is a misconception about Gardy. Did you know that Gardy lobbied to have Dozier brought up last year but was denied? In any event, I would prefer the Twins take Dozier over Burroughs. He might have a couple things he can improve on but so what. He is good enough to play in the bigs right now and there is no reason he can't continue to get better while playing with the Twins as opposed to the Red Wings
  21. That and they will probably target a lot of thier early picks on pitchers in the upcoming draft.
  22. Kieth Law had this to say in his blog today... "• I've been asked by many of you about the news this week that Harvard-Westlake right-hander Luc Giolito, No. 2 on my most recent draft rankings, has a sprained UCL in his right elbow and will miss the rest of his team's season. An MRI showed no damage, and he feels no pain, so the prescription for now is 4-6 weeks of rest followed by a conservative rehab schedule. He had little left to prove on the mound, so if he can throw for teams at the end of May and still has no evidence of structural damage (not the same as evidence of no damage, but the best we can get), I think he should still go in the top 10 if he's willing to sign. The upside here is far too good for teams to pass up."
  23. I am no expert, but I just get that feeling that a tear is all but inevitable somewhere down the road, Which of course would result in TJ surgery.
  24. So much for him...who's next?
