  1. Gibson and May have an outside chance as well. I'll be checking in. Also, ESPN will be releasing Keith Law's list a week from today.
  2. Its free material and you provided a link so I doubt anyone will object. I also noticed our division rivals are ranked 21, 25, 28 and 30
  3. A good example of irony is when Johny dakota, one of the worst spellers I've ever seen, makes fun of another person's typo:o
  4. Yeah, if the Rays move, it would seem foolish to have them move to another Florida city. Honestly,ML baseball doesn't belong in Florida. Both Miami and Tampa have proven this. The state is good for spring training and minor league ball but not ML. I would say they should move the Marlins as well but with that new stadium, which was a complete waste of money, moving them is not an option. Montreal would be the most logical choice.
  5. Yeah, no chance contraction happens. Even if it did it would not involve the Royals. They have a strong fanbase but little reason to show up at the park. If KC ever gets a winning team, you will see just how big the Royals are in the Greater KC area. Oakland would be a better candidate. But again, contraction aint happening
  6. Get a team back in Montreal. A competent owner and a new stadium (if Montreal builds one) could bring a pretty good fanbase.
  7. Wimmers got his surgery in August. So if you want to use Gibson as a timatable reference, he could be ready to pitch in live games by June. Probably pitch a few innings in the GCL then walk over to Hammond Stadium and pitch for the Miracle.
  8. I was agreeing with your points until this one. I'm not all that high on him but his ranking seems right to me. He may be higher if he hadn't suffered injuries last year and only pithced 30 innings. Before last year he WAS quite productive. I'm sure you weren't trying to come off this way, but sometimes when you talk about prospects you have this "what have you done for me lately" (good or bad) type attitute.. Which is the LAST way one should asses a prospect. Not trying to rip you becuase I like reading your thoughts. Just saying...
  9. Pretty well done. 3-8 could pretty much be pulled out of a hat and it would be hard to argue. I disagree with a few in the 17-25 range. I think Polanco, malotakis, Tonkin and Roberts should be ahead of Herrmann and Hermsen. I don't think Hernandez should be on the list at all.
  10. I would agree with most of what MNfan predicted except for the HR's. Part of the reason Rosario hit a bunch of HR's at Etown was because of the short RF. Down the line it is just 320 ft with an 8 ft wall. From what I've heard, a lot of his HR's were line drives that barely cleared the wall. In other words they would have been doubles or outs at other parks like Hammond stadium or New Britain stadium.
  11. Perhaps, but when an 18 year old dominates a notorious hitters league, it is worth getting excited about.
  12. More facts will come out. But I believe he was the victim of a hoax. Probably some financial scam in which he probably paid out lots of money to a fictional girlfriend. If this is true he is a sucker and an idiot, but not a bad guy by any means.
  13. Maybe those of you who get the error cover can try to get 10X face value on ebay:th_alc:
  14. Buxton may not start the season in Cedar Rapids but he will be up there before July. Probably in mid-May.
  15. I can't answer your question but I think it kinda sucks that a player would turn down an autograph because of a contractual obligation. Its a moot point, but if I were a pro athlete I would not agree to any contracts that prohibit me from signing autographs on a certain item or brand.
  16. I would say its a factor. When I went and saw Beloit play a couple games last summer, he saw more breaking balls than fastballs and the fastballs were mostly out of the zone. There were moments that he was over aggressive and swinging at balls out of the zone even when ahead in the count. He also showed some restraint when he had to. With the bases loaded and a 1-2 count, he took a high fastball and a low breaking ball to fill the count. He flinched at both pitches but managed to hold off. 3-2 pitch was hung and Sano Launched it. Those are the the AB's Sano needs to remember. Not just because he hit a grand slam. He showed good patience and it paid off when he got the pitch he wanted.
  17. I was thinking about doing something like that down the road. Take lists from here and other sites that rank Twins' prospects, then pretty much use the points system you provided. Problem is, some list provide just 10 players while others get to as much as 60(Shane). My question is, are we gonna have a new thread every time there is a new vote? Or will Dave be editing the original post on this thread and just have us vote again? (not sure if that could be done with polls)
  18. I have no problem with people making jokes. I attempt jokes quite often. This was so predictable it just made me go UGHHH! I was thinking about putting this in the original post "(insert Twins already a minor league team joke here)" Or something like that. I decided not to. Johnny's joke was inevidable, I just wish it didn't have to be the next post after the original one.
  19. I like the idea of an *official* Twins Daily prospects ranking that we can all decide on. I submitted my vote. And anyone who disagrees with the list should be banned for life:fenforcer:
  20. I'm pretty sure there will be an add or 2 on this website when it goes up for sale:cool:
  21. Do you or Johnny have anything of substance for this topic? Or just more unoriginal bland jokes?
  22. Why not? I know the Cubs, Red Sox and Cardinals have all been doing this for at least a few years now. Possibly other teams too but I don't know. Why don't the Twins let thier new affiliate from Cedar Rapids host a game or 2 at Target Field? I'm not sure how many tickets they would sell but its a sure bet that I would be there. I have asked Dave St. Peter about this topic on twitter a couple of times but not surprisingly, he has not responded. What do you guys think? Would you be interested in seeing some of our prospects play at Target Field?
  23. Interesting that I happen to come across this article as I'm watching Moneyball on demand.
  24. Back when blacks were being treated this way, There were almost no openly gay people because they knew what could happen if they came out. This is a terrible analogy.
  25. I don't know how you feel about sexual orientation being a choice or not. But to me it is completely illogical to suggest it is a choice. That being the case, gays feel the same sexual urges that staight people do. Are you saying they should spend thier entire lives suppressing those urges because the church says its wrong? This is completely unrealistic if you ask me.
