  1. Its not just Detroit, its the road in general he has been avoiding. He still goes on some trips, but mostly he does home games now.
  2. Correct. Diehard is wrong on this one. Players used to be able to do that about 15 years ago. That was the 'loop hole' that Boras would exploit before MLB closed it. Now a player has to go back into the draft unless, as you say, he goes undrafted.
  3. Hmm, so the DSL started today and Minier is not on the Twins' roster. Interesting, I would have bet my next paycheck that he would at least start is pro career in the DSL. Given his age and the fact that he is a product of the DR.
  4. Berrios got the win last night giving up a run on 3 hits over 5 and 2/3 innings. Berrios is now 4-2 with a 2.54 ERA. Over 39 innings he has given up 42 hits, 8 walks and struck out 44. John Bonnes asks if Berrios could be promoted. Personally, I would like to see him at Fort Myers at some point this year. But I would also like him to dominate just a little bit more than he has to this point. That means less hits and maybe even a few more missed bats. Another thing that has caught my attention is a couple people reporting that Berrios has been getting a little to easily flustered. If it is true that he has been showing anger when a fielder makes an error, or when an umpire doesn't give him a call, he may need a stern talking to behing closed doors. Maybe Jake Mauer or another Kernals coach has already done this. Reminds me of a time when I was 14 or 15, I was scolded by my coach for this very thing. I put my arms up in the air in frustration after my shortstop botched a routine play. Looking back, he was right to do it. As a pitcher you have to accept that your fielders are not gonna make every play. And the umpires are not gonna give you the benifit of every close pitch. All in all it really isn't much of an issue. Sounds like Berrios is very competetive and sometimes it gets the best of him.
  5. I had to go with the majority and take Bryant. I love Stewart and all his potential, but Bryant's bat is too good to pass up. I envision Bryant and Sano hitting back-to-back triple-deckers at Target Field.
  6. Given his age, it seems likely he spends most, if not the whole year in the DSL
  7. Honest question, why should it be noted that he is diabetic?
  8. You're doing a hell of of a job cmb. Lots of good info here. Just wanted to say that...
  9. May is doing ok. But I would like to see a few more punch outs.
  10. Burris has been demoted back to EST. He pitched a scoreless inning a couple nights ago but was otherwise unproductive. I still don't like him being sent down. Pretty small sample size. Guess he'll probably join the E-Twins roster when that season gets going.
  11. I would settle for below average
  12. looking at the picture, I can't help but be concerned about him swinging at pitches behind his head:p
  13. The odds have been against Chris since before he signed a minor league contract with the Twins last year. I have no idea how he will do, but he deserves the chance as much as anybody right now and I can't wait to see what he does with it.
  14. QFT...If the Twins' system was thin I might support this...somewhat. But the farm is strong so I do not favor reaching at number 4 just for the CHANCE that you might get a steal later.
  15. I like the way you think. Free Sano!!!
  16. By my count colabello played 116 games at 3rd in the minors. But hasn't played there at all as a member of the twins organization. The last time he played 3rd was 2011
  17. It feels significant to me that colabello played his 2nd game in a row in the outfield. Writing on the wall?
  18. Berrios has been good but not dominating, which is fine. He pitched well tonight but took the loss because his offense was shut out. Overall he has an ERA of 2.86 with 32 strike outs over 28.1 innings. Only knock on him right now is that he has given up more hits (30) than innings pitched.
  19. Burris has not been sharp the last 5 or 6 times he has pitched. Tonight he gave up a solo HR in an inning of work. Overall he has given up 12 earned runs over 9 innings. He has walked 9 and given up 10 hits. Still a pretty small sample so hopefully he turns it around.
  20. Awesome job Gibson! Though I kind of doubt he would have pitched the 9th if not for the 16 inning game last night when the Red Wings used 9 pitchers.
  21. no, that HR (Sano) counted.
