    Only a slight nit to pick. In 2009, when Sano, Polanco, and Kepler all signed, the money wasn't constrained. Teams were allowed to spend as much as they liked then. The bonus pool didn't start until 2012. So, the only constraint was really how much risk teams were willing to take on in the form of cash for signing rights for 16 year old players. But, I understand and agree with your argument. Also, I like the article. These are the fun articles to read during the offseason.

    As long as this isn't the only move they make, I'm fine with it. Give up a guy that you'd probably end up parting with anyway for help now, and it sound like they will also get a PTBNL. It's hard to be too unhappy with this.

    Unless you already gave him a healthy bribe to say something to the contrary. All I know is that I'm enjoying this ride. I know there's no way they can keep up this HR pace, but this is now two months of great baseball from this Twins team. One month, maybe that's a fluke, but two months, that's the beginning of a trend. Even if the HR's drop, I'm putting my money on this Twins team still finding ways to win ball games for a while.

    I'll miss them too. On the bright side, we have 52 more games against the White Sox, Royals, and Tigers.

    I've missed the minor league updates so much. Great to see them back again. Sounds like there were some good performances in the minors leagues yesterday. Great to see. I'm really curious to see what Diaz does this season.

    And a cheap buy out too. If he's terrible, it makes it real easy to cut ties too. Not that the buyout should be something to be happy about, but it is very team friendly. I'm a big fan of this signing.

    Unfortunately, with the new CBA, a player can only get a QO once in their career. So it's trade him before the season is over, sign him again, or he walks with no compensation for the Twins.

    Going by name only, Willie Joe Gary, Jr is the best pick the Twins have made so far. We'll have to wait and see what the best pick they've made on talent. I'll also be disappointed if I don't get to use the letters WJGJ or the the name WiJoGaJu for a while.
