  1. Well, I'm hoping that I'm right and I end up getting a nice steak out of this. It was funny to hear how both of us went from such high expectations before 2011 to "let's see who's team sucks less" in one season. I'm still holding out hope that the Twins really put something together, but that is just my extreme optimistic view. Even though I am a bit biased against the Sox, I just can't see how they're going to do anything at all this year, unless Robin Ventura turns out to be some super coach and gets the whole team into all-caliber player. I just don't see that happening though.
  2. Looks like a good deal for the Twins if he continues to pitch like he did in 2011. Not a huge money commitment overall, and if Perkins ends up moving to a closing role later, this becomes even more of a bargain.
  3. I bought season tickets with a group of people that I used to work with. Section 116 row 18. Two rows under the overhang from the legends club. Beautiful seats. We've been buying since 2009. As a group, we have 4 seats all next to each other. I'm only going to 11 games (sometimes with all 4 seats, some times with just 2). I always end up going to a few more games and sitting somewhere else in the stadium though.
  4. I would leave Span in CF for sure. Have you actually watched Revere track down a fly ball? He often starts out misreading it and starts running the wrong way. But, Revere manage to make a lot of plays because he is fast enough to make up for misreading the ball in the first place. Span takes great routes to the ball as well. Span is a great Center fielder. Think about this fact, move Willingham to RF. Keep Span in CF and Revere in LF. You could then shade Span and Revere over more towards RF, therefore leaving less ground for Willingham (who is not known for his fielding) to cover. With Span in CF and Revere in LF, they could cover a lot of ground.
  5. A few weeks ago, my friend (A White Sox fan) and I were having a conversation about the Twins and White Sox. We reminisced about a conversation we had in January of 2010. As a Twins fan, I was optimistic about the 2011 because of the strong 2010 season. He was feeling optimistic about the Sox because of their 2010 season and some off-season additions (i.e. Adam Dunn). We had a fierce debate about which team was going to win the division, and obviously it was limited to the Twins and the Sox. Obviously, we were both way off base on this conversation. By contrast, we started talking about what would happen in the 2012 season. This year, we decided to place a friendly wager on our favorite teams. We bet on which team would have the better record at the end of the season. The loser has to buy the other person a nice steak. My question to everyone is, would you bet a steak that the Twins have a better record than the White Sox at the end of 2012?
  6. This sounds like a summer trip that I should consider. I flew out to see the Twins play at Fenway last year, and now I've made it a goal to see every stadium in the MLB. This seems like a good chance to take a trip and cross a few off the list.
  7. Major League for sure.
  8. I'm going to have to go with Ed. Joey from "Friends" and a chimp? You really can't have a baseball movie worse than that.
