  1. It's nice to see the Twins finally string some hits together. As soon as the ball came off of Willingham's bat, I (as well as probably everyone else) knew it was gone. He absolutely crushed that thing.
  2. Yeah. Beer league softball is great. I play in Minneapolis. It's a coed team, and we just lost our first game 16-6. One brutal half inning is all it took.
  3. I think the idea was Marquis is a relatively cheap starter that puts in a lot of innings and creates a ton of ground balls. I think TR was trying to save some bullpen arms that way. I think this is Hendricks' time to prove he's ready. Hopefully, he has a great year.
  4. Maybe not. Maybe he signs for much less than $9Mil on a one year deal after his option is declined.
  5. Ahh.... (explative deleted).
  6. Agreed. We need the pitching. Thanks for the link as well. This is interesting stuff. We'll have to see how these rankings change between now and June.
  7. Can you provide a link? I'd be interested in reading that.
  8. The Blue Door Pub in St. Paul. Hands down. http://thebdp.com/
  9. Thanks for keeping these updates going. It's good to hear about what is happening on the farm.
  10. $7.75 isn't that bad for craft beer at a baseball game. Surly is generally $5 to $6 at many bars anyway.
  11. For those of us Twins fans that love fine beer and watching a Twins game, Surly has announced they are they are releasing an exclusive brew available only at Target Field. Surly Bandwagon! http://mnbeer.com/2012/04/09/surly-bandwagon-at-target-field/
  12. He does have to get his average up a bit, but I think the most important thing he has to do is raise his OBP. I know that harder to do when pitcher are not afraid to throw you strikes because they know you won't take them deep, but he has to be able to get one base more. Showing these pitchers that you can hit a line drive into the gap and get doubles and triples with ease, then they'll start helping you walk a bit more assuming he doesn't swing at their junk.
  13. I'm betting that he's learned to protect his face after that one. Now, how long does it take before he takes a ball to the gut (while protecting his face)?
  14. Awesome. Just awesome.
  15. This is a tough one. Yes, there was the PED thing, but yes everyone is making money. I think they're doing the best the league (i.e. Selig) to work with the union on the PED thing. They did actually manage to get regular testing in, as well as a new test for HGH this year. So, I think he's done an ok job trying to get rid of PEDs. It's a tough job with such a strong players union.
  16. I love the spirit of the song, but I just can't stand Craig Finn's voice. I can't say that I have a favorite song about baseball. They all end up sounding kind of cheesy to me.
  17. I think he was wondering if they were going to sell all 4 of their year round brews. The picture above doesn't show Furious. I can't imagine that they'd leave that one out though.
  18. The picture looked like it had 3 of the 4 of their year round brews. I can't imagine that they wouldn't sell Furious though. Surly and Fulton beers... and Big Gingers. No one is leaving that stadium sober.
  19. Go Bull Dozier! And good for Dinkleman going from 1st to 3rd.
  20. I don't know why I forgot about those guys. I agree, one of those guys will probably get the second open spot on the 40 man.
  21. It might not be a "last ditch" any more. It looks like Waldrop is getting shut down for a while and won't make the team out of ST.http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120329&content_id=27728884&notebook_id=27731884&vkey=notebook_min&c_id=min&partnerId=rss_min
  22. He's not on the 40 man, but there are a few spots open now. Who knows? He seems to be making a case for that in this outing.
  23. Thanks for the article link. Pretty interesting stuff. Not exactly the point I think you were trying to make, but interesting to see some of the financial numbers.
  24. I don't really think this is the place to have a payroll discussion, but since it has already started.. What you're saying is even though they made less profit last year, you think they should spend more? What about the fact that ticket sales were high because people expected them to be good at the beginning of the season, where as this year, no one expects them to be very good?
  25. I thought we picked up Carroll for that veteran leadership already?
