    I believe if he officially retires he would forfeit his contract. He's not putting in any paperwork until that contract is officially over and paid.

    I may be speaking for others, but my thought is that no team will touch him this year. What he's accused of is a lot for a PR team to gloss over, but can be done (see Watson). The difference between him and Watson is that Bauer is already thought of as a difficult team member, doesn't seem to care about improving his image, and, most importantly, doesn't show even the slightest bit of remorse or even understanding of the issue. The man seems like a predator and teams are likely concerned that this is a pattern and there seems that it will be likely that something like this may happen again. I don't think any team will be willing to take on a person like that.

    My guess for the '24-'26 infield is similar, but I think I have a feeling they are going to push Lee into more of a 3B role and slide Miranda to 1B most of the time. Correa will man SS as long as he is able with Lewis at 2B. That's is everything goes right.

    Agree. I'm thinking this makes it more likely that they try to trade Kepler for some pitching. I'm assuming the pones are ringing in Miami as soon as the contract is signed (if not before).

    I think the Giants and the Mets were concerned how the leg would hold up at the end of the deal, not as much when he's in his prime. The 6 years avoids that, and the vesting options give the team some security if his leg goes bad. If something happens, he likely won't reach the vesting options.

    The previous rumors indicated that the deal would not be contingent on a physical. But I'm with you, I'm excited now, but I won't be fully celebrating until his pen touches the paper.

    I'd have to look up the rumors, but if memory serves me correctly, it was the Dodgers that were unwilling to part with De Leon, which is why the original trade never got done.

    Looks like Minnesota's own Gus Varland (Brother of Twins starter Louie) is headed from the Dodgers minor legues to the Milwaukee Brewers.

    They are really prospects 1A and 1B. I don't think it matters where you put either one. So much potential for both.
