  1. That is Pittsburgh's home opener, so scheduled off day applies there. The off day after the Pittsburgh series is a travel day, I guess?
  2. If the Twins would have traded him for international cap space, then he probably would been added to Pittsburgh's 40-man roster, and therefore gone forever. As a rule V draftee, Pittsburgh still need to keep him on the 25 man roster for the required amount of time. If they don't, they have to return him to the Twins. So, at least there is a chance to get him back. I'm not too mad about this yet. Someone called Kinely a Jim Hoey 2.0, but are we sure that Burdi isn't also a Jim Hoey 2.0?
  3. Fun fact: Bortolo Colon's first start against the Twins came on July 7, 1997 as a member of the Cleveland Indians. Over 20 years ago... http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/11253/11253-PP56Fr.jpg
  4. I think the trade needs to be submitted to the league before 3EST. Some trades will be announced after the league approves. At least, that is my understanding of how this works.
  5. Castro clearly didn't frame that one well enough.
  6. Oh man, peanut butter Capn't crunch is awesome. Crunchberries are good as well. Not with whisky though.
  7. I'm hoping that Boyd pitches a no-hitter today.
  8. If anyone is actually interested in the status of the bronze Robocop statue: http://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/2017/02/10/robocop-statue-detroit-update/97743076/
  9. And coming soon to Detroit: http://static4.businessinsider.com/image/56cb9645dd08952d558b46a9-960/robocop.jpg
  10. Our first trademarks of the season!
  11. I didn't know Canadians listened to Led Zeppelin. Unless Jimmy Page had a stint in Rush that I'm unaware of... That's how you know about Jimmy Page, right?
  12. WOOOHOO! Opening day game thread! I'll be at the game, so you won't have to deal with too many of my comments today. You're welcome. Go Twins!
  13. I'm still looking for the details, but since this is a blind bidding process, there is no way to know for sure how much the second place bid was for. I'm looking for the article, but I seem to remember reading that the 2nd place bid was not far off from the $12.85M though. It looks like MLB Trade rumors stated there were multiple $10M+ offers out there though. This article says that there were at least 12 teams involved with the bidding process, but there is no way to know which teams those were. Here's another article that goes through a list of teams that put in bids for Park.
  14. Oh man. That shirt is amazing and I really want one. Unfortunately, I can't make the pub crawl.
  15. I'm waaay late to the game here. I had to add Futurama's Green Monster: http://theinfosphere.org/images/3/3c/Green_Monster.JPG
  16. Here's one that's more relevant to the conversation: http://www.theonion.com/video/nasa-continues-search-for-planet-capable-of-suppor-30989
  17. You shouldn't do that. That's how Falco died. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/162765/rock-me-amadeus-o.gif
  18. I can't even say the word Autobahn without thinking of the band Kraftwerk. Also a product of Germany.
  19. Driving on the Autobahn is quite the experience. I got to do that a few years ago, but it in an Opal Astra... I didn't get the speedometer to go quite as high as you. It was still fun though. My first experience on the Autobahn was when I was 16. I was an exchange student and had been the country for about 45 minutes before I was picked up by my friend and his father. We hopped in his BMW (5 series, I believe) and before I knew it, we were going 215kph (133.5 mph). They continued to have a calm conversation in the front as I held on for dear life. Willkommen in Deutschland!
  20. By not paying attention, you're losing out on all the synergy that this new software creates.
  21. The software rivets things together? Sounds like high tech robot stuff to me.
  22. Florida gives the rest of us the best weird crime stories. I just saw this one: "Cops: Man arrested on drug charges after hitting van with machete" Well done, Florida. Well done.
