    If you really cut it loose up to 160 your drive time is only 12-1/2 hours. The jail time might be a bit longer, though. No predictions on the hospital stay.

    Last year? Are you sure? I just remember an uninterrupted string of misery last year. Was it 2015? 2006? 1988?

    Far too many of those - Oliva was great but..., I know Bostock had already left but ..., Castino, Koskie, Liriano*, Ortiz (for different reasons), Morneau, and now Mauer. Edit - One more to add - Scott Erickson was absolutely dominant for a little more than half of the 1991 season. He had a bad start, tweaked his elbow (not necessarily in that order), missed a start or two, and was never the same. Maybe it was smoke and mirrors, but I think it was more than that. * - Santana had one of the best 4-5 year runs in history, and for 2006(?), in the middle of that run, he was the 2nd-best starter on the team until Liriano hurt his UCL.

    If it was the Bud Light Lime talking, you'd be discussing our World Series pitching rotation.

    I was always kind of partial to the John Castino low stirrups with the pant legs fairly high to show more of the socks. (IIRC his theory was he would get fewer called strikes lower in the zone. He was a fun player to watch - it's a shame he hurt his back.

    It seems likes spotting the other team 5 runs is the new winning strategy. Do you think MLB will change the rules so we don't have to waste the pitchers' arms, we can just tell the umpire to put 5 on the board to start the game? It would work sort of like the intentional walk thing. If they don't go for that, I guess we could just intentionally walk the first 5 guys and then balk 3 times to bring everyone in. That seems more time-consuming than it needs to be.

    Q: R2. GB to 2B, throws to 1st for the out. R2 keeps going past 3rd and is thrown out at home. GIDP?

    The only positive in the game was a recycled pitcher - the team-record 30th on the year. The Rangers TV crew made the comment that they had just been in Seattle, the Mariners had used 33 pitchers already, and it wasn't a team record.

    I was close - I guessed I Dream of Jeannie instead of Bewitched. Same era, just slightly before my time. Both went off the air well before we had color TV or more than 3 channels (1 CBS, 2 ABC, until one of the ABC affiliates switched ... to CBS - big help there.) We did a lot more reading and listening to the radio than watching TV.

    How many teams would see him as an upgrade in LF? How many of those would see him as a big enough upgrade to give up something significant?

    edit: forgot to quote when I first posted That would be awesome. I still have the jersey in my closet. ​That's probably the only reason it would be awesome. Maybe next year is the year he finally puts it together and wins a Cy Young. (I've been thinking that for a decade; why stop now?)

    I don't think we will know for sure for another year or two (when Murphy makes his first all-star game appearance while Moya is serving up BP coming out of the Twins' bullpen.) (Yes, THAT was sarcasm. I hope.)
