  1. This might help tomorrow go better for you: http://www.menshealth.com/guy-wisdom/11-ways-to-ease-nasty-hangover
  2. You'll have to clarify that with Molly
  3. My guess is he gave up on thought process in July and switched to darts.
  4. You'd probably be most helpful "employee" in the store. At Target, you'd be the only one.
  5. I thought the wild pitch on the intentional walk summed up our season. I'm so confused!
  6. If you missed the game it was the right amount of drunk.
  7. I don't usually try to analyze MLB batters' swings because HS is about the highest level I can be useful, but it sure looks like Buxton stands a little too far from the plate. He can't cover the outer third, and meanwhile he had a massive home run last week on a pitch that was up and way in. Is anyone else seeing that or am I imagining it? I'm looking at his back foot, since with the open stance his front foot moves in from the starting point.
  8. Same here. I never heard of the show and didn't even realize it was from a show until a couple of years ago.
  9. As you pointed out, 100 is an arbitrary number that indicates "really bad," but the Twins have been really bad for five of six years now (just not quite that bad), so I'm hopeful that the process of turning it around is well under way, not just beginning.
  10. You had to wait until September to share this vital info?
  11. When I got the basic training haircut I was I looked like Tweety Bird. Some head shapes just don't work with the shaved look. I do cut mu own hair, though - #8 all over, then #4 up the sides and back, then #6 to taper between the two. Easy. No appointment needed.
  12. Alomar, Knoblauch, Baerga, and Biggio were all playing at a high level at the same time. Two HoF, Knoblauch looked like he was on that track for a while, and Baerga was probably #2 on the list before he aged 10 years overnight. I'm not sure this list is better, but they are at least comparable.
  13. Don't tell me now we're going to start converting pitchers into outfielders.
  14. It sounds so much better with the S - we need to petition Webster's to get that changed. As a parent of one OBU grad and one OBU senior, it always drives me nuts that the plural of bison is bison.
  15. The Dome was the greatest and the worst. When it was full and loud, it was amazing. When it was 1/3 full on a sunny Sunday afternoon, all of the plastic and the horrible PA system really stood out. I guess it was never quite the worst, but only Tampa was saving it from that (and it was close.)
  16. That's the main reason most of us come here.
  17. Sometimes when it's not working it makes sense to pull the plug for a while and then try again later. I think we reached that point with Buxton.
  18. I think the only difference it made is Albers is subject to the 10-day non-injury recall rule for being on the 25th instead of 26th man (and I'm not even 100% sure that's true.) I'd be more upset with Albers returning without someone being injured than I am about any consequences of the rule.
  19. I probably would have, but that says more about me than about your point.
  20. That would be an interesting list to re-check in a couple of years.
  21. Buxton will get more chances, and I really think he's just a couple of tweaks away from putting it together. I still think we will see them both in the middle of the line-up in the not-too-distant future.
  22. Great article - definitely worth digging it out again. I imagine the 2014-2016 chapters would have some interesting stories as well. I don't know if he has the ability to put together sustained success in the majors, but it's nice to see his persistence rewarded.
  23. Unfortunately, I can see one team giving him a multi year deal.
  24. How long has he been using that extremely closed stance? I guess what he's been doing sort of works, I guess (apart from the 4 Ks last night), but I'd like to see him change that up in an attempt to find something that really works.
