  1. It changes every year.
  2. He cleared waivers. Generally not a sign you could flip him for anything.
  3. Mastro? Really? I don't get that at all, unless he's a warm body for 1-2 days while they figure out another move.
  4. Isn't there already an exemption if it's prescribed by a doctor? I know there is for stuff like ADHD meds anyway.
  5. Except when Dipoto tried that last year with Scoscia he was quickly fired.
  6. I posted this elsewhere and didn't see a response, but the Twins were super careful with Meyer's innings in 2012-2014, then they dipped due to last year's bullpen demotion. Are they watching innings this year? If so, I'd say he's bullpen for sure. But maybe he's far enough removed from the shoulder injury that it's not as important. Anybody heard anything on this?
  7. With MLB SS options as Nunez and Santana...I think I'd take Polanco in that case. But Santana seems to be all about playing well when it's not expected, so maybe he could still take off there.
  8. I don't see anyone on the MLB roster who should be a closer--well, if that were a real position and not just a relief pitcher with a bigger spotlight. While somebody in the minors may have the arm, remember DET annointing Rodon. It doesn't always work. They're kinda stuck and have to hope for the hot hand at this point. Maybe May will get his act together, but I don't trust him much more than Jepsen right now either. Just hope for a 3 R lead for once instead. A week ago everyone on the board was clamoring that bad teams don't need closers anyway.
  9. Curious how an extra 45 minutes will affect his nerves.
  10. It's pretty common with pitchers. Plus, by starting in AAA he gets more innings. Changing positions to help the team is a part of the game, not some head game. That, and he's probably on an innings limit anyway, seeing that we was from 2012-2014 or whatever, before actually throwing fewer innings last season. At this point, I just hope he improves his MLB stat line from last year.
  11. Imagine that. Nunez needs a day off before Santana is back from the DL, so they went to the guy next in line. This shouldn't surprise anyone. While I could care less about the OF/3B debate, I'd be pretty confused if they threw Rosario at 3B.
  12. I wouldn't base much of anything on lip reading.
  13. Based on Meyer's erratic 2015, I'd make sure he's consistent for a month before considering him, unless there's an injury. Berrios is up whenever a rotation spot opens, even through demotion or injury. Is there any innings limit on Meyer this year? (Not that it matters now.)
  14. Too early but if these performances continue for another 10-15 days, I mostly agree. I'd DFA Mastro if anything, not bring him up. He's a warm AAA body, not a MLBer. I think Berrios will push and if Milone continues to struggle, it's inevitable. T
  15. Santana may also be back soon. He played 3B in ST, right?
  16. If it's a short term injury, I assume Sano stays in RF. Long term, who knows. That said, Nunez seems to be the best hitter lately so why not keep him out there (as weird as it is to say that).
  17. I know this thread is to speculate and brainstorm, but history shows the Twins don't really do firesales like Houston or Florida (er, Miami) have. They'll trade off pieces, but not more than pending free agents for the most part.
  18. Did he bring his son along? (sorry, couldn't resist)
  19. Put him at C. Nobody gets injured there.
  20. "Those numbers were all compiled while the Twins learned little to nothing about what they had" I think the Twins base their decisions on the past 10 years in the minors and scouting rather than a few games. 2015 performance was relevant, but not a determining factor.
  21. I think Boyer made the MIL roster. Rivera sure had a career year in 2014 and fell fast.
  22. I love that skinny Newman laying down a bunt '87 Topps card.
  23. I would hope the minors use closer by committee. But I also think they shouldn't have the DH because prospects need to learn defense regardless of AL v NL. So who am I to speak. Is Graham still to be a multi-inning pitcher? If so, I'd think he wouldn't be candidate.
  24. He did fine in the 8th prior to becoming closer.
