    Why not consider putting Jepsen into competition with Perk for the closer role. Perk was less than adequate down the stretch the last two years.

    Let's hope Mauer has a bounce back season and can help propel the Twins to the playoffs. I do have to wonder how much of this is spin doctoring, though?

    Something has to change regarding the service time issue. If we wait a month now to worry about locking in Berrios for another season five years in the future.. what is the cost today? Could a handful of starts from Berrios be the difference between the playoffs and not making the playoffs?

    Does this make it official that Mauer is now known for his defense more than his offense? This just shows how far his offense has declined and that the Twins need an upgrade at first base.

    What's wrong with having dual closers? Giving Perk some help by having Jepsen take save opportunities sounds prudent given Perk's recent 2nd half collapses.

    Sign the guy just for the cool name if nothing else. He does seem like an upgrade so why hesitate if he wants three years instead of one year. This franchise can afford it and really owes it to the fans to take calculated risks. We have a shot in 2016.

    He is not a winner and is not known for his clutch hitting in pressure situations. His playoff stats are abysmal, to be kind. The big question is was he dominant enough when he was catching to get the votes for HOF? It should be fun to see how his career ends and how the HOF values his career. Good January talking points for years to come.

    This year for the Twins reminds me of when Denny Green stated the Vikes had no weaknesses in the roster and everyone scoffed. They then went 15-1 and... well Gary Anderson... let's hope these Twins have the same type of regular season but a better playoff run.

    Bench Mauer - it will improve the club overall and open the door for a young guy to prove his worth.

    No, Bonds should not make it and should not be on the ballot. He is a fraud and what he did to the game of baseball is unforgivable.

    The only thing I'd add would be the dance parties and the changing of the clubhouse culture away from the dreary end of the Gardenhire era.

    With the swings from year to year on established players it makes me question the reliability of the defensive metrics.
