  1. I don't see it . He was terrible in September. Once " cute relievers" are caught up with, they generally don't bounce back.
  2. They said the 52% was over time. There are death, taxes, and my favorite team is owned by the Pohlads,
  3. Asset management. If a starting catcher goes down we could get a haul. My guess is he gets moved at the deadline for young starting pitching prospects.
  4. After 6-15 -2017 Belisle had the best ERA on our favorite team. Hindsight is so cool..
  5. Falvey was on Inside Twins just after the Pressly trade was made. Basically he said the offer was too good to pass up. He said we got potentially a front line starter and a every player. Maybe his scouts are better than yours.
  6. Any way you can show us where this has been repeatedly said?
  7. Last August we got rid of a bunch of 2 month rentals and beefed up our farm system. It was a no-brainer. Look for them to do the same thing this year.
  8. Burdi and Chargois can't stay healthy. The new regime has no interest in those types. For a little over a year of Pressly we got 2 pretty good looking prospects.
  9. It's not that difficult. If they used them last September, they have a future with the team. If not, they are going to disappear.
  10. The new regime is all about asset management. At the deadline, I assume they will stock up on pitching below Rochester.
  11. I'm guessing Duffey won't make it up north and Hildy is on the shuffle. Romero and May give us 2 hard throwers. Plenty of time to add another bull pen arm. Best to let things play out.
  12. That is probably the best trade the new regime has made. A little over a year of Pressly for 2 solid prospects. Actually the CF was in rookie league.
  13. Castro's above average defensively. Can you provide the board with the names of the better options? The top dog reliever in Colorado had a difficult year for much more money and many more years. The Rockies had better hope for a bounce back season from him.
  14. Castro is as solid as they get defensively. It will be interesting though, because he will be dealt at some point in time and the much awaited Astudillo era will begin.
  15. We got a bit of a preview last September. Stewart and May pitched themselves into the mix, IMO Hildy pitched himself off the opening day roster, and Gonsalves looked like 80% of starting pitchers making their debut. No one else did too much. I'm not surprised at all.
  16. I really don't think it matters. I thought a lot of the hangers-on were going to disappear. Back in the days of yore the Twins only invited 13 pitchers to spring training once. I thought it was crazy, but it ended up being one of those addition by subtraction deals.
  17. Anything the White Sox and Twins can offer, most other teams can also.
  18. No doubt the Cano, Greinke, and Stanton deals have scared teams off. Teams do not want to get stuck on the back end of these deals. Remember how happy this board was with Mauer's contract. There have been fundamental changes in free agency, and the situation remains fluid. It's not going to be over until the fat lady signs.
  19. I hope I'm not the only member who is pleased.
  20. If Stewart and/or Gonsalves are ready, these guys don't get a roster spot. When they are ready, you cut these guy. It's not that difficult a concept. The Yankees just made a move like this. Sanchez is a good example. He was the first starting pitcher we signed last off-season, on a very low risk deal and the board had kittens. When we got Odorizzi and Lynn, he was gone within 30 days.
  21. When did Castro and Reed become third tier free agents? Going into last season Castro caught the 2nd most innings of any catcher since 2013. He couldn't help it he got Darvished. When we signed Reed, he was the 3rd highest rated reliever in free agency. Hindsight is so cool.
  22. The ship doesn't sail for 4 years. If he wants to become rich before then, there is only 1 number he can call.
  23. Picking up a starting pitcher on a non-guaranteed deal is a can't lose situation. Why not.
