    The one philosophy I fully agree with in the Falvey/Zoll era is not spending big money on FA relievers. The role is simply too fickle. The SSS kings. I'm looking at Fangraphs' leaderboard of relievers this season. Only 3 in the top 20 were acquired as free agents. Tanner Scott 4/$72, Aroldis Chapman 1/$13 with vesting option, and Juan Morillo (minor league signing with ST invite). That's it. Everyone else was either traded for or developed internally.

    Perhaps a one size fits all development strategy making everyone a 2-4 inning pitcher isn't a great idea.

    And what do you know? Those organizations emphasize good pitching, defense, and athleticism. 3 traits that have aged well in baseball for 100+ years.

    I couldn't agree more RB. Now that you mentioned Teruaki Soto, that's a target I would love to see signed by the Twins. Use the savings from Jeffers and Larnach to lock that in. I'd rather spend the prospect capital to acquire Hunter Goodman and his 3 arb seasons than extend Jeffers for 4, likely 5 years until his mid 30s. How many examples do we need to see of signing FA catchers in their 30s and watching their performance crater? Caratini, Vazquez, Jason Castro, Kurt Suzuki...

    I unfortunately witnessed Justin Lawrence enter the 7th inning of a 4-4 game against the Cardinals. Then within 10 minutes he gave up 4 hits, 4 ER, and 2 HRs launched in the upper deck.

    Concur. He’s got my vote, with Tristan Gray a close 2nd place. And shout out to @The Great Hambinofor giving the honorable mention to Justin Lawrence. He is the worst pitcher I’ve ever watched in person wearing a Twins uniform.

    For those that attended the Twins World Series in 87 or 91, do you remember how much tickets cost? I’m looking at the secondary market Gametime (use promo code Gleeman 😉) and the cheapest ticket for game 1 is $2,700. Absolutely insane.

    Where does that leave Austin Martin, the 5th OF or off the team? Roden and Martin are in the same tier for me as potentially useful bench bats, but not guys you'd want in the every day lineup.

    Just saw a graphic on ESPN that old friend Stefon Diggs is 5th for active players in career receiving yards. Not too shabby for the former 5th round pick. It’s been a long time since the Vikings hit on mid round picks like that

    Talk about run heavy with JT, Mason, and Jones plus Murray as a run threat… Murray wouldn’t need to pass more than 25 times a game. Paired up with this elite D? You’re not wrong that’s a Super Bowl formula

    Any of the 3 I'm in. Nelson I'd guess is the most expensive to acquire even with an expiring contract... Taylor maybe a 2027 2nd gets it done? He still has 3 more fairly expensive years left on contract. Bynum probably a day 3 pick?
