  1. The team we’re playing tonight the oldest guy on their team is 32 years old. Identical record. Weird.
  2. I’ll bet you a full year’s mortgage the Twins lose this game. You in? If you think they’re also going to lose, giving these innings to a guy who has zero future on this team is a complete waste of time.
  3. Yes. They’re down by 5 runs who cares? This is prime opportunity for a prospect getting their feet wet.
  4. I truly can’t imagine a bigger waste of MLB roster space than a 39 year old mop up reliever.
  5. My parents are now in full grandparent mode with my nieces. My mom, grandma, is whipping up all of the family favorite desserts when we’re all together. I can’t say no and potentially hurt her feelings…
  6. Well you may not have a reason for that 2nd bowl but good choice on the ice cream flavor. If you had any Oreo, chocolate chip cookie dough, or strawberry in reserves… Whelp, it’s a nice night to have at least another scoop of ice cream. I make a rule of no ice cream in the house because I’ll finish a half gallon of it in 2-3 days. Can’t help myself from my favorite dessert of all time.
  7. Give us a break okay? It’s 70 degrees sunny and little wind. Not ideal to be watching baseball outside /s
  8. Update: Skenes’ ERA is now a career high 1.98 after 9 starts this year.
  9. It’s encouraging there’s more cap space than I thought. I figured if tough decisions needed to be made to clear up space, Spurgeon would be near the top of the list with his $7.5 mill hit. We’ve got more than enough depth to lose one of Spurgeon, Brodin, or Middleton if required to extend Hughes
  10. A 1st line C would do the trick for the team. I would try to make a trade for Auston Matthews, but I doubt we have the draft/prospect capital nor the cap space. The #1 priority is locking in Hughes long term. We can’t let him get out of the building he’s a true superstar
  11. "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should." - Dr Ian Malcolm
  12. You must be disappointed if you’re buying the Star Tribune when you do. Any baseball game starting after 12 PM was recorded as late when I saw the paper on Easter Sunday at my Uncle & Aunt’s house. I can confidently say as a 36 year old I’ve never had a daily newspaper delivered to my residence in my adult life.
  13. You provide a unique perspective on a curiosity I have. Is Minnesota more loyal to content creators like Gleeman, Zulgad, Coller, etc. where they can go independent and succeed? Compared to other markets like Milwaukee and Chicago that you’re involved in?
  14. Honestly, it’s pretty fitting that Ober is the one to throw a Maddux. Congrats on a magical night Bailey!
  15. Amazingly, 15 years later that old guard of writers providing terrible coverage in 2010 are still employed at Star Tribune today. No wonder why their subscription totals have swirled down the drain. Lavelle E Neal 3, Jim Souhan, and Patrick Reusse have been recycling the same lazy articles for the last 30 years.
  16. In Minnesota we have seen a lot of writers start independent ventures that appear to be sustainable… Skor North, Wide Left (Arif Hasan), Purple Insider (Matthew Coller), now Gleeman again. They were able to do it because they had 20+ years to build an audience working for a newspaper or radio station. I have the same question in sports media as I do for so many other professions… How does any young person break into the industry/profession anymore? We’re just scratching the surface of AI and companies will need to make the choice to remain human or go with AI. Websites like Sports Illustrated have already decided to go all in on AI slop so I try to avoid that website at all costs now.
  17. It’s frustrating because this is the most talented Wild team in their history. Colorado is just a buzz saw of a team.
  18. IIRC Paddack when went out of his way claiming the facilities, coaching staff, and food with the Tigers was better than the Twins when we traded him there. I think that ship has sailed.
  19. I'd much rather give the late inning opportunities to a 26 year old with a potential future than the three 35+ year old pitchers we're keeping around for whatever reason. The Twins should be claiming guys like Gomez on the waiver wire as much as possible. Let's start building something instead of treading water at best with guys who won't be a part of the 2027 Twins and beyond (looking at you, Garcia, Topa, Banda, and Rogers).
  20. Same here. I'm not sure why the FO thinks a bullpen full of waiver wire/DFA trade acquisitions is going to work in their favor. Out of the 50+ waiver wire acquisitions made in the Falvey era, has anyone besides Brock Stewart worked out for more than a year? You would think one of the benefits of using this strategy on bullpen arms is discarding the ineffective pitchers without thinking twice. Yet we treat these old waiver wire pick ups like gold...
  21. Pretty big news this morning. Good luck to him continuing his dream of writing about the Twins!
