  1. There's always a justification to delay and do nothing. That's what we've been doing the last 3 seasons. And we still have 2 27 year olds, a 28 year old, and 2 30 year olds with less than 1,000 MLB at bats. That's the real price of delaying and doing nothing.
  2. This team is clicking in every phase of the game. If we take down Colorado we can absolutely win the Cup.
  3. And what does that do for next year? All of the prospects we hope are a part of the future won’t have a large enough sample size to prove anything. This year we need answers on several players. Otherwise next year will be more of the same missing the playoffs yet again.
  4. Honestly a pretty good idea because I-394 is a parking lot right now both east and west bound
  5. Calling up E-Rod and sending Wallner to St Paul is the easiest move they can make. Any day now…
  6. Thanks for the reminder Nick... Also, former TD punching bag Christian Vazquez with a 153 OPS+ as Houston's backup C, and Ty France with a 148 OPS+ as San Diego's backup corner IF. We didn't need them.
  7. I'm not even sure peak Billy Beane could pull off a good team with an active payroll of $75 million, 2nd lowest in baseball. $31 million out of $106 million is going towards 2 players who aren't playing a single inning for the Twins this year (Lopez and Correa)
  8. Titles are made up anyway so if that's all it takes, and he goes back to his behind the scenes contract details guy, cool. Now that he got a sniff of what it's like in the draft war room, I have no interest turning this current triangle of authority into a square of authority.
  9. The 2016 Twins had Brandon Kintzler until the trade deadline and Pressly. The dark ages from 2010-2014 had Glen Perkins closing out games. Yep, this year looks pretty bad when the team leader in saves is 1.
  10. I'm curious now if Rob bows out if he's now shown interest in the GM role, and he's passed over as a long time internal promotion candidate? If it comes to that I'm okay with losing him as a cap expert. I think promoting him to GM is the worst decision we could make in the short and long term.
  11. Tomorrow is going to be a fun day for MN sports. Skol Wild and skol Wolves!
  12. And the most expensive FA signing we had is the one I'm ready to move on from now. Rogers was a nostalgia signing anyway and it's not working out. He's getting hit hard
  13. This organization is a truck stuck in the mud. The wheels are spinning and s*** is being thrown everywhere. The truck isn’t going anywhere until we find new people who can push us out of the mud.
  14. It’s cliche but we need a football guy to come in and bring a fresh set of eyes to the whole operation. We don’t need a number crunching finance guy again.
  15. And none of them have over powering stuff. It’s a throwback to the Terry Ryan days when we had nothing but soft tossing pitch to contact relievers
  16. I would argue Zebby in particular has flamed out as a starter. Dude has a 5.91 ERA in St Paul this year and a career 5.92 ERA in 25 MLB starts. Put him on the Varland career path and crank up the gas
  17. That’s the depressing truth. I was looking at the Saints pitching stats this morning and it’s not good. Get ready for a revolving door of waiver wire pick ups
  18. This is gonna be a repeat occurrence when the bullpen is full of guys that can’t miss bats and a bad defense behind them.
  19. Broken bat bleeder gets thru the infield. Mariners lead.
  20. Orze is not even close to hitting the strike zone
  21. Whelp. It’s up to the bullpen to close this out
