  1. Phrases like "the fan base won't tolerate it" and "[they risk] further alienating the fanbase" are laughable and really shouldn't be used when trying to suggest potential motivations for the current ownership group. In what world have the fans ever been a consideration? It's never been a basis for ownership activites, and it's borderline insulting to even suggest that it is at this point. We're all smarter than that.
  2. I'm heading down to Fort Myers in a couple of weeks.... Does anybody know the name of the place where Balazovic got punched in the face last season? I know it was some place downtown, but I don't think I ever saw which place it was, It seems like a must-see for any lifelong Twins fan!
  3. It feels like most are assuming that whatever comes from a new tv/streaming deal is going to be some kind of magical cure-all for the Twins payroll reduction, but even if Amazon/Diamond/Bally are the destination in the end, they've still got the Twins over a barrel because there are no other money generating alternatives, so it won't be anywhere near what they've paid in the past. Plus, at this point, the PR damage the Twins have caused is already done, so what's the motivation for backing off the payroll reduction now? It feels like the free agency ship has sailed for this offseason. But 2025 with another new tv/streaming contract along with half of the league included plus Wheeler, Burnes, Fried, Bieber, etc. available? Go get 'em.
  4. I would've bet the farm that he was 74 years old. Surprised to learn he's only 23.
  5. Good call on the monthly standing room tix. I hadn't considered that.
  6. We've gone down to KC maybe 10-12 times and usually stayed in the Country Club Plaza area, although we stayed downtown a couple blocks from the Power Light district last year which was a nice change of pace. There's a free light rail thingy that runs between KC Live! and the City Market neighborhood - both are spots worth checking out. Sneaky good KC BBQ recommendation that nobody ever mentions when talking KC: Char Bar.
  7. You've pushed an image of Bonnes in a short sparkly dress into my mind. Why would you do that?
  8. After giving the definition of insanity, two paragraphs later we see: "What would make absolutely zero sense though, is to cut bait over the winter after hanging on through what the Twins did." Then Ted says we shouldn't base decisions off of 13 appearances, after the preceding blog uses those exact 13 appearances as justification for potentially keeping him around. I mean, what what are we doing here? This a crazy blog, man. Wacky. Keeping Pagan around would simply be a move to placate the Falvine ego, not acknowledge another bad bullpen acquisition, and move on from it. The definition of insanity.
  9. I’m also down here in the Fort at what was supposed to be a ball trip, Went to the Gopher game yesterday. Saw Rocco and his big floppy hat being chatted up by a rando outside the team store. Saw Mike Hermann wandering the concourse. That was the extent of our celebrity sightings. No activity anywhere else in the complex.
  10. Hard to call a stadium that's a Soler HR (does he still hit those?) away from a major interstate "the middle of nowhere", but if the point is that it's surrounded by acres of parking lots, then point taken. In that same vein, since you ended up Ubering to the park, this omission is understandable, but for those actually driving to the park, because of the acres of parking, the tailgating experience there is another part of the environment that's great and something we just can't really replicate here for really any sports since the Met was turned to gravel, with the possible exception of Gopher football, but even that can't be replicated. They're good fans down there, and with the Twins fans mixed in, it turns into a "community" feel quickly. #SharedBeer
  11. If they even sniff at Grandal, the faith Falvine has earned since their arrival will start to erode. This implication that this would even be something to be considered this offseason given the price tag that he's sure to command with 4/5 of a rotation needing to be filled would be irresponsible at best and bordering on silliness.
  12. Babytown Frolics is the name of my favorite rockabilly band.
  13. Just the opposite. It helps identify inefficiencies in the delivery and provides an opportunity to clean it up.
  14. The Stage 8 fella needs to immediately ban this guy for heresy. #Stage12ForLyfe
  15. I don't know if I'd say this "great" news... Or bad news. It's just news. I still feel incredibly itchy and uncomfortable with the whole situation.
