    ok, cool, thanks.

He is truly an amazing defender. I've heard/read some say he's the best defensive CF they have ever seen out there. Not sure I'm there yet, because I've seen some great defensive play in CF, but he's awesome. Imagine what our pitching staff numbers would look like without him

ok. I looked at it a couple times, and I still don't see it. Even if he didn't have to, it was still a great catch.
  4. jimmer
Did Buxton really need to leave his feet there? Seems many OF go out of their way to make catches look more spectacular than they are.

25% of the award includes SDI, which is likely a big reason why most (not all) of the gold gloves nowadays can at least be argued as being correctly awarded.

Only good thing about tonights game is Hunter isnt in the booth talking about veteran magic

this is what happens when people look at the schedule and say, 'ours is easier cause of teams like the white sox.'

Berrios is frustrating. All that talent and so inconsistent Hopefully with experience that goes away.

    Way to go Buxton

I remember when he was making way less and producing like crazy and people were complaining that he wasnt making anywhere near what he was worth.Good times. Oh wait, that never happened...

Yup, its Mauers fault that Molitor took him out of the lineup against a soft tossing lefty and put a catcher at 1B.

    1st base defense important.

Moreland leads the AL 1B in DRS and is 4th in UZR. Not sure a bad year. Mauer is 3rd in DRS and 1st in UZR (but also has 100 less innings played). Hosmer has never deserved a gold glove yet somehow...

SDI accounts for 25% of the voting
  15. jimmer
Well, since he consistently takes shots at Mauer, I believe you are incorrect :-)
  16. jimmer
I like it when people can still figure out a way to stretch discussions so far out so they can still manage to take a shot at Mauer's performance. Takes dedication.

There is a nice article posted yesterday about Buxton over at Fangraphs.

david ortiz DID play a mean 3rd base...

Kind of like when a lot of people were saying Gibson had turned the corner after 2015?

    Game of Twins? :-)
  22. jimmer
Angel Hernandez, Joe West, Laz Diaz, CB Bucknor. Consistently the worst umpires out there.
  23. jimmer
Yeah, that paragraph is hard to argue with.

Judge also leads the league in walks, runs, HR.
