Yeah, I'm not sure one can really expect a player to improve on and maintain a BABIP over .362. That's extremely high already. It's amazing he's busted that number twice already. But he does pound that ball and since he's done it twice, I suppose he could do it on a regular basis.

I made a ton of money on the 1998 Vikes/Falcons playoff game :-)

KC got to the W Series WITH Shields. They never get to the playoffs that year without him and Davis. Oh yeah, let's remember WADE DAVIS was part of that trade too. That was a very important trade for the team. And yes, the Twins needs to immediately improve the rotation and not waste any more of Buxton, Sano, Berrios, Kepler, Rosario and Polanco.

I think if anyone believes Mauer will sign for only 8M a year or less a year they are kidding themselves.

Things that need to die? Trump's Presidency (preferably via impeachment. If not, maybe by one too many Big Macs)

Congrats to all the Vikings fans here on this site. I hope your team does well in the playoffs!

They didn't NEED to move May to the bullpen. They chose to. Not the same thing.

I'm a fan of Sorkin. I've greatly enjoyed practically every movie and show he's written.

One of my favorite individual seasons of any show. Olivia Colman is such an amazing actress! Can't wait for her to take on the role of Queen in 'The Crown' during seasons 3 and 4.

I'm finding Knightfall to be a good show.

Happy New Years everyone! Hope y'all have a great year!

Any news that doesn't kiss Trump's behind being called fake news.

I also saw The Greateat Showman and, like you, I loved it. The Darkest Hour is next on my list. Hope it is better than Dunkirk which so many seemed to love and which I found a boring mess.

Not hard to believe. Pirates are doing fine in OF.
  15. jimmer
Well, they got their reclamation guy (Pineda) and their old pitcher (Rodney), now they are interested in the old position hitter past his time who cant play D(Napoli). Trying to pull the Twins FA trifecta.

I don't know too many people who look at FIP for closers (or even relievers).

The numbers he had pitching in the steroid ERA AND AL East in the 1990s-2000s, HOF worthy.

Mussina, for me, is a definite HOFer.

Denard Span, Christian Arroyo and prospects to the Rays.

Rooker has played 40 games in A+ ball. Not a minute in AA ball. We really think the Twins are going to bring him up next year?

Nor were they as bad as what their record said middle June. Goes both ways. They were clearly superior than every team in the division and they got to play, what, 72 games against the division?
  22. jimmer
yeah, I'm talking about our division. The Indians won the division by 17. Teams with clearly superior talent usually win out over 162 games. BTW, I don't remember anyone praising the Giants, Tigers or Mariners. There were teams obviously better in their divisions.

Pretty soon, we need to stop with the whole Ryan bashing and Ryan defending. In fact, it's past time for that to happen. Ryan is gone, and we need to move on.
  24. jimmer
A lot of people said that about the Indians going into last season. And they thought they were prophetic in June. The Indians won the division by 17. Teams with clearly superior talent usually win out over 162 games.
