  1. EVERYBODY who has ever commented on this site seems to feel they have some insights on the problems. MOST would not be great hitting coaches.
  2. One has nothing to do with the other. Some team is going to give Ohtani $600 Million dollars. Is there a Twins implication for that? Maybe we could re-sign Aaron Hicks to a similar deal. He's a hitter that used to pitch.
  3. Bringing in Cruz would be a super move, just not as hitting coach (at this point in his coaching career). Let's be honest this team hasn't been the same since guys like Rosario, Cruz & Sano have been gone. No fire, no heart. Cruz' mere presence in the locker room would help with that.
  4. When you remember all the folks on here advocating to sign Omar Narvaez, Vasquex looks like a genius move.
  5. None of which proves that firing Lawson was the right move OR that firing Popkins would be the right move either. WAKE UP calls are cute. But seldom achieve the desired result. You consider making a move if you have a viable improvement candidate available. Making a move just to make a move is foolish. What we need is better hitters. Like some of the ones we've moved on from in recent years that I can't mention for fear of incurring the wrath of squirrel.
  6. All fine and dandy but if the team wants one of them in CF I'm willing to bet it ends up happening. Besides, I fairly certain most fans on this site would be highly upset if Kepler played were in a position which impeded his departure.
  7. Which might also allow the starters to (continue to) pitch a little deeper into games and take some pressure off the bullpen.
  8. Not quite sure where this "Kepler & Lewis refuse to play CF" noise is coming from. I've heard no such thing. I'm sure we might be able to guess that Lewis might be a bit gun shy about playing there since he got hurt there last year but I've not heard on thing about him "refusing" to play there. Same with Kepler. I've never heard anything about either one not being willing to do whatever they might be asked to do. If I'm missing something I'd love know what it is. Other than random fans talking S$@#!
  9. The pendulum between the two could easily swing as much in the Miranda's direction over the next year as it has in Steer's over the past year. Steer will also face a similar in house obstacle to what Miranda has faced in that four of the Reds top seven prospects (if you consider Elly De La Cruz to be graduated off the prospect list) have a 3B next to their names.
  10. I suppose that would at least get him under a half dozen.
  11. SHOULD be MLB ready by now and yet by all accounts are NOT.
  12. Hopefully SWR's 6.79 plays better at the big league level than in the International League.
  13. Trading Berrios precipitated the need for the Mahle trade, which precipitated the need for the Pablo Lopez trade.
  14. They haven't won it yet and if you haven't won, you've lost.
  15. "Easily replaceable" players would have been gone long ago.
  16. Nick Senzel might be a name to watch. Can play 3B or any of the outfield spots, including CF adequately and hits the snot out of left handed pitching, something which I've heard a time or two (thousand) on this very website is a need for this team. Price might not be prohibitive since he's not a pitcher. Might be a great year for the Twins to zig (seek bats) when everyone else zags (seeks arms).
  17. Call me crazy but I like to keep track of HIT rate.
  18. Might be a fine addition to our plethora of ultra talented superstar type left fielders.
  19. The day I'd rather see Vasquez at the plate than Buxton, in any situation, is the day I turn in my fan card.
  20. tough to prove it on the mound when you only pitch 32 innings and only accumulate 12 saves. Cano has more innings pitched, a better ERA and a better WAR. Part of the reason Jansen gets in is because he has more saves.
