  1. Does Paddack have any value? Fixed it for you
  2. A cautionary tale for those who believe that selling the club to new owners will cure all it's ills.
  3. Those baseballs look like ping pong balls in Harmon's hands.
  4. I think there is a one year Correa type deal to be made with a Boras client. Budget be damned.
  5. Don't know. But I DO believe there will be one move that will shock Twins fans.
  6. I'm not complaining on missing out on free agents. That's never really been the way this team operates and I'm smart enough to not be butt hurt about it. I do think there will come a time in the next year or two when we'll look back and realize we may have been hasty about moving on from Kepler. Odds are one or both of Larnach or Wallner will flop. I am also of the opinion that there will be a late in the game FA move that will shock the rubedom.
  7. A cautionary tale of a trade you regret. Team A trades it's best SP. A year later, in the throes of a pennant race, Team A trades three prospects for a similar SP. Newly acquired SP starts 4 games for Team A down the stretch before injury and starts 5 games the following year before injury and never plays for Team A again. Team A then trades the previous year's first round draft pick for another similar SP and subsequently trades a the league batting champion for another similar SP. Team A now has a similar SP but doesn't have the three prospects it traded for the first replacement, or the first round pick it traded OR the league batting champion it also traded. But it does have Edouard Julien who can't play defense and JUST MISSED winning a batting championship with his .199 BA.
  8. I hate to keep beating a dead horse but those four years of which you speak are the ones that followed the decision that paying Rosario $8 Million was a bad idea because we had Kirilloff and Larnach waiting to fill the void. NOW we have decided that Larnach & Wallner are ready to make Kepler expendable. Think it works better this time?
  9. Addition by subtraction always sounds good. Until you have to rely on it. Meaning: Wallner lays an egg, nobody else is ready, Kepler does the job in Philly and ends up with a ring. Wanna bet?
  10. Don't know what the angst is about. They didn't miss out on anyone we would have expected they get and they didn't lose anyone the rube base didn't want gone.
  11. If it involves trading a # 1 starter for a 1B I hope the hell not.
  12. Damn straight mechanics matter. Try taking your car to a crappy one and see how you like walking.
  13. He's made a total of $28 Million since he left. An average of $7 Million per year. Not chump change but also shy of the number you think we've saved. I'm old enough to remember a time when fans of this squad would have crucified management for being more concerned about saving $7 Million than about having a guy who might have been better than the putrid sludge we've mostly run out to LF since he's been gone.
  14. didn't agree or disagree with you about a single thing except your Buxton take. Don't put words in my mouth *******.
  15. Trading your number 1 starter to get a 1B gets you fired.
  16. And we have one playoff appearance in the four season's he's been gone. Sometimes fixing all the problems doesn't fix all the problems.
  17. Would have been nice to see Larnach do that day 1 rather than waiting three years.
  18. Rosario brought an intangible that no analytic can measure. Heart. Cue a dozen people who will try to sell me on the analytics.
  19. in your opinion
  20. Pretty sure that's not going to happen. Wanna bet?
  21. Twins are still waiting for a LF to adequately replace Rosario. Do you REALLY think they've got it right this time?
  22. The real question is: Will Larnach & Wallner adequately pick up the slack in the corners. And do they do so better than Larnach and Kirilloff did when Rosario left. Say what you want about what Rosario has or has not done since he left but the guys who replaced him did NOT live up to expectations. If that happens again, it will again be a long couple years around these parts.
