  1. Moreno was the guy they should have targeted. Especially since they ended up moving him anyway.
  2. Regardless, what can't be argued is that they gave up a lot of assets for front line starting pitching after moving Berrios. And they moved him over a full season before they had too. Who knows how 2022 plays out if they don't. And, although the return looked promising in 2024, both need to improve for the Twins to win this deal.
  3. Interesting that a team that has only used two catchers at the big league level for two season has now traded for two more in three weeks.
  4. I'd have no problem with Correa at 16. I Larnach weren't at 14.
  5. Now factor in what we gave up a year later in a futile attempt to replace what Berrios meant to the rotation by trading for Tyler Mahle and then again when the Mahle acquisition went south and we dealt for Sonny Gray. I won't even factor in trading the batting champ for Pedro.
  6. As long as Alonzo remains represented by Boras don't rule anything out.
  7. "I'm no math major, but having three dudes in the top 21 when there are 30 teams seems good. The Dodgers are the only other team to boast that claim." I've been saying this since the middle of last year. And, actually, before Joe Ryan went down that number was a little better than 21.
  8. Giving guys like Wallner & Larnach, who can't seem to hit LHP more PAs against LHP doesn't seem like a recipe for improvement.
  9. I'm not sure I'd put a guy who has spent most of his career looking like he's made of glass at a position where guys are going to be barrelling into him on double plays two or three times a game.
  10. More likely that new ownership would do exactly the the current FO did when they took over, leave things as is for a year and evaluate what is already here before making any major moves.
  11. Hard for some to accept but they can't "will" their way into a managerial change.
  12. The only reason to move Duran is when we get closer to his free agency cuz he'll never re-sign here. We've cost him millions by moving him from starter to the pen and more by not making him strictly a 9th inning guy.
  13. I know another team that could benefit from an established high-leverage arm in the bullpen. The Twins.
  14. A better bet is that (at least) one of Wallner or Larnach falls flat this year and the only thing they might be traded for IS bait. Not a bad asset around these parts but doesn't do much on the ball field.
